的认知方式，直接参与了人类的认知过程。颜色是一种的自然现象，人类生活在一个五颜 六色的世界里。对颜色的认知是人类对外部世界认知和经验的重要组成部分。当人类用颜 色词来修饰一些没有颜色的事物时，颜色隐喻便形成了。英语和汉语同为源远流长的语言， 都有丰富的颜色词。英汉两个民族对各种颜色词的感受和理解存在着许多共同性，但是颜 色隐喻同时反映着社会心理、风俗习惯、宗教信仰等文化因素方面的差异。随着中西文化 交流的不断深入，人们已经认识到具有深刻文化内涵的颜色隐喻常常成为跨文化交际中的 一个交际障碍。因此，研究英语和汉语基本颜色词的隐喻具有一定的现实意义。 本文一共五章。 第一章，绪论。本章主要分析了选题背景、目的和意义，以及研究方法和研究思路。 第二章，文献综述。本章的文献综述总要围绕三个方面：隐喻、基本颜色词，以及 文化与颜色隐喻关系来分析。国外隐喻的研究主要经历了三个阶段。第一阶段是传统的修 辞研究阶段，以亚里士多德的“对比论”和昆提良的“替代论”为代表，他们的共同点 就是认为隐喻是一种修辞方式。第二阶段是隐喻作为修辞向认识研究的过渡阶段，其代表 人物是理查兹和布莱克。在理查兹的“互动论”中，他提出了人类思想和行为的隐喻性概 念，实现了隐喻从修辞格研究向认知研究的过度。布莱克在此基础上发展和完善了“互动 论”，将他的理论与传统的“对比论”和“替代论 做了明确的区分。第三阶段是最重要 的一个阶段，是隐喻的认知阶段。这个阶段主要的理论是莱考夫和约翰逊提出的“概念隐 喻理论 ，这也是本文颜色词隐喻研究的理论基础。我国的认知隐喻研究主要在国外理 论的基础上进行新的阐释。对于基本颜色词，b e r l i n 和k a y 区分了1 1 种基本颜色词：黑、 白、红、绿、黄、蓝、棕、紫、粉、橙、灰。我国的学者也提出了这方面的看法。目前公 认的基本颜色主要有：黑，红，白，绿，蓝。鉴于黄色在中国历史上所产生的不可替代的 作用。笔者把黄色再加入到前面所公认的五种基本颜色中，对这六种基本颜色词的英汉隐 喻的异同进行比较分析。 第三章，英汉基本颜色词隐喻的异同点分析。黑色是黑夜的颜色，是神秘之色。英 汉两种语言常常用黑色代表死亡、悲伤、恐惧、邪恶和压抑。不同的是，在汉语中，黑色 常常与反革命联系在一起，而在英语国家，黑色可以喻指“生气 和“获利 。白色是雪 的颜色，代表纯洁，干净，从而形成了“无辜，白费力气”等隐喻义。但是，在中国，白 色多带贬义，是代表死亡的颜色。操英语的人却对白色情有独钟。无论在中国还是在英语 国家，红色象征喜庆，高兴和幸福，有时候也表示激动的情绪。由于红色特别的亮眼，常 常作为警示标志。红色可以说是中国人最喜欢的颜色。红色是血和火的颜色。在中国代表 的是革命与共产主义，但是在英语国家，红色常常是血腥和暴力的象征。蓝色是天空和大 海的色彩，在传统中国，它并不受重视，它的隐喻义远没有英语来得丰富。英语在表达“情 绪低落 的意义时，蓝色是最常用的色彩。蓝色在英语中也代表一种尊贵的身份，犹如汉 语中的黄色。绿色在英汉语中都有丰富的内涵，是自然之色，一方面它代表蓬勃的生命力、 安全与和平，另一方面它与成熟的黄色相比，却显得生涩。但是，在等级分明的古代中国， 绿色总是处于最低级，“绿帽子 是男人最不想戴的。英语中的绿色常常和嫉妒、权利、 财富连在一起。黄色代表太阳、金子和成熟的果实。它可以带给人希望但是也让人想到生 病时脸色的蜡黄。历代中国，黄色是最尊贵的色彩。但是时间改变了一切，最尊贵的黄色 现在却成了国人眼中最低级的色彩，如黄色录像等等。在英语国家，一说到黄色，人们首 先想到的是胆小与背叛。 m 福建师范大学同等学力人员申请硕士学位论文 第四章，英汉基本颜色词隐喻异同点原因的分析。关于原因分析，无论是相同点还 是不同点，最后都可以归结到文化上。当然，这里的文化指的是广义上的文化。英汉基本 颜色词的隐喻之所以有共同点，笔者认为主要源于共同的认识、互相之间的影响以及共同 的文化价值观。至于不同点，可以有三个方面的原因。第一是生活环境的不同，包括自然 环境和人文环境。第二是不同的思维方式。它在人类理解周围事物中起了决定性的作用。 思维方式不同，人们对周围无处不在的基本颜色词的隐喻认知也不同。第三是不同的宗教 信仰文化。不管是有意识还是无意识的，宗教信仰影响着人类生活的方方面面，其中当然 包括颜色隐喻。在中国，最具影响力的宗教当属佛教和土生土长的道教，释迦摩尼佛以及 风水五行思想根深蒂固。在英语国家，他们的国教基本上都是基督教，上帝是他们的神， 耶稣基督是他们的救世主，圣经是他们生活的准绳。 第五章，结论。这章主要是对文章的总体结论。通过前面的对比研究分析，本文比 较深入地探讨了文化因素对于英汉语颜色隐喻的影响，揭示了英汉语颜色隐喻产生的不同 文化背景、形成规律和形态特点，这对于我国的英语教学、翻译和跨文化交际研究有一定 的价值。最后，本文也指出本项研究的一些局限性和今后的研究设想。 福建师范大学同等学力人员申请硕士学位论文 c o n
