摘要 归化与异化是译者在处理源语与译语语言文化差异时采用的方 法。翻译过程中翻译策略的选择不仅涉及到译者本人的翻译目的、文 化态度以及意识形态等主观因素，而且还受到文本类型、时代背景和 读者期待等客观因素的限制。因此，有必要用历史的方法去研究一部 译作的翻译策略，全面考虑到其特定的主客观因素。 本文旨在通过简单随机抽样调查的研究方法来研究戴乃迭边 城英译本的文化层面的翻译策略，并对译者采取这一策略的主客观 原因进行初步探讨，以期对中国译者译介中国经典文化和文学作品给 予启发。通过简单随机抽样，本文从物质文化、社会文化、宗教文化 三方面进行具体调查，得出结论：戴乃迭边城英译本里文化翻译 采用了以异化为主，归化为辅的翻译策略。 继而本文又初步探讨了导致戴乃迭选择这种翻译策略的主客观 原因。首先，作者从翻译目的、文化态度和意识形态三个方面考察译 者本人的主观因素对其翻译策略的影响。接着又从文本类型、时代背 景和读者期待三个客观方面来挖掘译者采取这种策略的理由。尽管戴 译边城在文化信息的传译方面存在一些不完美之处，但其为传播 中国文化采取的翻译策略为广大译者们提供了良好的借鉴，尤其对当 今全球化环境下的中西文化交流具有重大的指导意义。 关键词：边城；戴乃迭；翻译策略；归化；异化 a b s t r a c t d o m e s t i c
