随着世界电影事业的发展，以及中国电影在世界舞台上的r 益兴盛，中外电 影交流成为了跨文化交流同益重要的篇章。电影字幕翻译也随之受到翻译界的强 烈关注和重视。就外国观众而言，最难理解的是中国电影中的文化负载词；就泽 者而言，最难传递给外国观众的也是文化负载词的意义。因此，本文以关联理论 为理论框架，以具有浓郁中国文化色彩的电影霸王别姬为个案研究对象，探 讨电影字幕中文化负载词的翻译。 本文首先对电影字幕翻译这种特殊的翻译形式进行了剖析，从而提出用于指 导翻译实践的理论框架关联理论。关联理论包含几个主要因素，本文分析了这 些主要因素在翻译中的应用，特别是在电影字幕翻译中的应用，进而说明关联理 论是字幕翻译的最佳理论框架。关联理论的中心主张是翻译尽可能的产生最佳关 联，来取得最佳的交际效果。 文章进一步探讨了关联理论指导下电影字幕中最难翻译的部分，也就是文化 负载词的翻译策略。归化和异化作为关联理论框架下两种主要的翻译策略，又各 自拥有具体的翻译方法。本文进而以电影霸王别姬为个案，就这些具体的翻 译方法做了详细分析。 本文针对电影字幕翻译指导原则不明确，电影字幕中文化负载词的翻译还没 有得到足够关注的现状，提出以关联理论作为理论框架来指导电影字幕，特别是 电影字幕中文化负载词的翻译，旨在进一步探索字幕翻译的实质和提供有效地翻 译方法。
