as t u d yo nf u z z ye x p r e s s i o nt r a n s l a t i o ns t r a t e g i e so f s i xc h a p t e r so f a f l o a t i n gl i f et r a n s l a t e db yl i ny u t a n g摘要模糊性是自然语言的属性之一。在语言交际活动中，运用模糊语言可以增强语言的灵活性，提高语言的表达效果。模糊语言在描述事物时是朦胧的、不明确的，即模糊语言的语词具有朦胧而又广远的语义外延，可以实现语言中特定的审美和语用效果。因此，大多数文学作品都十分重视模糊语言的运用，因其外延的不确定性可使读者产生丰富的联想。然而，绝大多数对模糊语言的翻译研究都集中在应用文体，日常会话和中国古典诗歌上，中国古代文言作品中模糊语言的翻译并未引起足够的重视，以文化差异为切入点更是不多见，这些都成为本研究的动因所在。基于现有的模糊语言的研究成果，本文缩小并界定研究范围，试图构建一个文言作品中模糊语言翻译的文化视角模式，以期为模糊语言翻译实践提供借鉴，有助于提高模糊语言翻译的质量，从而促进中外文化交流。当代翻译研究的一个新趋势是关注文化的重要性，翻译是一种跨文化交际活动，它所涉及的不仅仅是两种语言之间的转换，更是两种文化之间的转换过程。由语言转换转向文化转换这一现象自然也存在于模糊语言的翻译中。模糊语言的使用同文化密切相关，模糊语词的选择和表达从各方面折射了一个民族的文化特质。模糊语言是文言作品常用的一种修辞手段，汉英不同的思维方式会赋予不同的模糊语言以不同的文化特征。汉英两种文化在历史背景、宗教信仰、生活环境、民族心理等方面的渊别令汉英模糊语言翻译举步维艰，而人类语言存在的一些共性使得模糊语言的翻译成为可能。本文试图从文化视角，结合翻译实例，分析和归纳汉英模糊语言翻译的问题、困难以及对策。在此基础上，试图分析文化因素在模糊语言形成及其翻译过程中所产生的影响。全文以林语堂英译的清朝沈复自传浮生六记为个案，在审美和文化层面对其英译模糊语言时采用的几种方法进行了分析和探讨。我们认为，作品语言凝练，其模糊语言具有特定审美效果和文化蕴涵而不同于现代汉语。在翻译过程中，我们应更多地关注源语文化的内涵，尽量采取灵活合理化翻译策略和方法在目标语中处理模糊语言所表现出的各种不同的文化特征的问题，真正让翻译成为传播文化的一种媒介。关键词：模糊语言；文化视角；文言作品；浮生六记as t u d yo nf u z z ye x p r e s s i o nt r a n s l a t i o ns t r a t e g i e so f s xc h a p t e r sd 厂af l o a t i n gl i f et r a n s l a t e db yl i ny u t a n ga b s t r a c tf u z z i n e s s ，嬲a l li n h e r e n tc h a r a c t e r i s t i co fn a t u r a ll a n g u a g e c a l lh e l pe n h a n c et h ef l e x i b i l i t ya n de x p r e s s i o no fl a n g u a g ei nh u m a nc o m m u n i c a t i o n f u z z yl a n g u a g ei sb o t hd i ma n di n d e t e r m i n a t e ，t h a ti s ，t h ed i ma n df a r -
