摘要 摘要 归化和异化是在翻译中所运用的两种不同的策略。近年来，翻译 界就这两种策略在翻译中该如何正确运用的问题引发了激烈的讨论。 归化是指以目的语语言文化为导向的翻译策略。在采用归化策略的翻 译中，源语言中的表达方式和文化因素被抹杀了，从而使该种译本易 于让目的语的读者接受。异化是指以源语言文化为导向的翻译策略。 在采用归化策略的翻译中，译者尽量保留原作中的写作特色和异国情 调。 本文作者试图通过研究苔丝的两个中译本，研究出归化和异 化在翻译中正确使用的“度”。本文作者选取的两个译本的译者分别 为张谷若和孙致礼。张谷若坚持“用地道的译文翻译地道的原文”的 观点，他早在三十年代就翻译了苔丝，其译本曾被视为译著中的 经典，但近年来又受到过度归化的指责。孙致礼的翻译思想和张谷若 的很不相同，他提倡翻译要以异化为主，并在九十年代重译苔丝。 张谷若和孙致礼都采用了山东方言来翻译原文中的方言。 本文着重研究了两译者对原文中方言的翻译；译文中四字成语及 一些带有文化色彩的名词的使用。山东方言的采用被认为是翻译原文 中方言最为有效的方法。但在张的译本中，对于山东方言的运用，有 太多过度归化的例子。这已成为张译本中的瑕疵。在翻译中，张擅长 采用四字成语，这使他的译文更加流畅。但是很多的成语都带有中国 固有的文化色彩，过度地依赖运用成语并不可取。 翻译的目的是为了传递信息，促进不同文化问的交流，因此，在 文化层面上，翻译应尽量采取异化策略。由于中英文两种语言之间存 摘要 在着巨大的差异，而译文肯定要采用汉语中地道的表达方式和行文规 范。因此，在语言层面上应以归化为主。 关键词：归化异化翻译策略 a b s t r a c t a b s t r a c t d o m e s t i c a t
