称谓是语言文化的一部分，不同的语言有着不同的称谓体系。一般来讲，在不同的 语言中一些称谓是通用的。但是绝大多数情况下，由于各国语言不同，历史、社会和文 化的发展也不同，形成的称谓体系也是各具特色。 中国文化博大精深，经过漫长的历史而形成的称谓体系已经成为语言学和翻译学研 究的任务之一。称谓往往反映一个人的的血缘关系、职业特性和社会地位等众多方面的 情况。中国古典小说红楼梦中出现了各种各样的称谓，种种称谓不但表现出中国文 化的特色，而且还折射出作者的价值取向，爱憎喜恶，创作意图，语言能力及独具匠心 的精妙设计。因此，理解一部文学作品中出现的称谓对了解这部作品承载的文化是必不 可少的。 由于汉德民族称谓的差异巨大，主要是由于中国称谓体系的庞大复杂，在翻译称谓 语时必然会遇到这样或那样的问题。红楼梦中称谓语的复杂以及其所代表的民族文化 特征使得在翻译红楼梦称谓语的时候更是困难重重。可以说，如何将此书中的多种 多样的的称谓用另一种语言表达出来是摆在翻译工作者面前的一个巨大任务。 在翻译界，存在着两种处理源语言和目的语文化差异的翻译策略归化和异化。 这是最早由l a u r e n c ev e n u t i 于1 9 9 5 年提出的翻译理论，他把翻译分为两类：尽可能与
