摘要 本文试图从存在主义角度解读老人与海，旨在阐释主人公圣 地哑哥的存在之“本真 。基于海德格尔和萨特关于“本真”的思想， 第一章对“本真 这一概念进行解释，指出“本真 是存在主义宣扬 的一种美德，为“对自我的忠实 、“对自我的创造 和“自我承担责 任”之意。海明威这部杰作之所以成为英语文学的经典之作，恰恰在 于其主人公圣地哑哥的存在之“本真”艺术地表现在三个方面：1 ) 对死亡的理解；2 ) 存在的态度；3 ) 存在的方式。这三个方面相互关 联，形成有机整体。要理解存在之“本真 ，就不可能不去探究不存 在即死亡的本质，只有理解了死亡，才能更透彻地理解存在的“本真 意义，形成关于如何存在的“本真”态度，拥有“本真”的存在方式。 第二章探讨圣地亚哥对死亡的“本真”理解。在充满死亡气息 的现实世界中，圣地亚哥没有退缩、没有沮丧，在死亡面前表现出超 然的镇定和毅然的勇气，战胜了重重困难，最后抵达岸边。圣地哥 的捕鱼经历和殊死搏斗，正展现了他对死亡的独特领悟。 第三章讨沦圣地亚哥“本真”的存在态度：即“本真”的自我 认知和对个体存在的态度。圣地亚哥“本真”的存在态度艺术地体现 在他“与众不同”的“自我认知”，面对现实人生的挑战采取老骥伏 枥、壮心不已的独特生活态度。他意识到自身存在的独特性，辨证地 看待自己的过去和将来，满怀信心地面向未来。他把捕鱼视为与生俱 来的选择，执着于其中所体现的价值，这种价值观与存在主义的“本 真 理念相吻合。 第四章论述圣地哑哥的人生选择和存在的责任，即他“本真 的存在方式。圣地亚哥一生的捕鱼经历和与死亡搏斗的生命历程，真 实地体现了他以自己“本真”的存在方式实现了自我存在的价值，完 成了“我为故我在 的责任担当，他是存在主义“本真”哲学理想的 一个真实的实践者。
