摘要 本文主要依据侯仪( h o e y ) 的词汇衔接模式理论并结合利用韩礼德 ( h a l l i d a y ) 的词汇衔接理论对英语新闻语篇的词汇衔接模式进行了详细的分析。 词汇衔接通过词汇的选择来实现，是实现语篇连贯的多种衔接机制中最重要的一 种，对语篇的连贯性的构建起着至关重要的作用，是实现语篇性的主要手段。本 文以侯仪( 1 9 9 1 ) 关于英语篇章中的词汇衔接模式为框架，同时结合韩礼德和哈桑 ( 1 9 7 6 ) 词汇衔接理论的部分观点，主要从三个角度分析了英语新闻语篇中的词汇 衔接模式。第一，词汇衔接对于新闻语篇主位推进模式的建立与识别作用重大； 第二，词汇衔接对于新闻语篇主题的建立与识别也起着十分重要的作用；第三， 在对新闻语篇的理解过程中，对于语篇生成的语境的理解也非常重要，而词汇衔 接对于语篇语境的理解构建和识别也是不可缺少的。词汇衔接对于实现整个新闻 语篇连贯性与统一性有着重大的作用。上述分析表明，词汇衔接手段在英语新闻 语篇中地位突出，为达到整个新闻语篇的连贯与统一，词汇衔接手段在新闻语篇 的构建过程中得到了大量的使用，成为新闻语篇的一大特点。因此，分析英语新 闻语篇的词汇衔接模式，了解词汇衔接手段在新闻语篇中的应用，对于英语学习 接机制中词汇衔接的描述却相对较少。国内外学者多数都是从系统功能语言学的角度对新闻 语篇进行了及物性分析，主位推进模式的分析以及人际意义的分析。也有一些学者从衔接机 制的角度对新闻语篇进行分析，试图揭示衔接机制对于语篇连贯的重要意义。但具体的从词 汇衔接模式角度对新闻语篇进行分析的研究并不多见。正是如此，笔者才从词汇衔接模式的 角度来考察新闻语篇，全面分析词汇衔接模式可以从哪些方面影响到新闻语篇的连贯和语篇 性的实现。所以，我们探讨词汇衔接机制的概念定位和涉及范围，确定词汇衔接与语篇连贯 的关系，进而讨论词汇衔接模式在新闻语篇中的重要作用。有部分学者从衔接机制的角度研 ， 究新闻语篇，并把研究成果应用于翻译实践、英语阅读教学或英语写作教学中。但对于英语 新闻听力教学方面的研究却有所忽视。因而，笔者进而将研究结果应用于英语新闻听力教学， 期望能够促进国内英语新闻听力教学方式的改进和提高，最终达到帮助学生培养听力技能和 提高新闻听力水平的目的。而这一点也正是先前的研究中有所忽视的一个方面。词汇衔接模 式对于实现语篇连贯起到了非常重要的作用，对语篇的理解有着至关重大的帮助，所以新闻 语篇中词汇衔接模式研究应该予以一定的重视，希望笔者的研究能够使得新闻语篇中的词汇 衔接模式研究进一步得以在实际教学中得到应用，进一步从多方面对词汇衔接模式进行研 究，将研究成果与英语教学的各个方面相结合。 词汇衔接是指跨越旬际的两个或多个词项之间词汇意义上的联系，即通过词汇的选择和 运用在语篇中建立一个贯穿篇章的链条，并以此来达到连贯的目的。这些词汇或重复或由其 他词语替代或共同出现，从而构成语篇的连贯性和完整性。根据侯仪( h o e y ) 的研究，在 韩礼德和哈桑的文本分析中词汇衔接占了所有衔接方式的4 2 。此外他还指出，一个词可 以同不止一个其他词汇发生联系，因此词汇是唯一一种能够经常形成多重关系的衔接手段 ( 虽然指称偶尔也可以形成多重关系) 。因此，研究语篇的衔接在许多情况下就是研究词汇 衔接。词汇衔接是衔接机制中十分重要的一种衔接手段，通过对词汇衔接模式这种形式特征 的研究，可以分析出语篇是如何实现意义连贯和统一的，这对读者和听者完成对语篇的理解 意义重大，因而对语篇的词汇衔接模式进行考察分析是十分必要的。韩礼德和哈桑1 9 7 6 年 出版的英语的衔接( c o h e s i o ni ne n g l i s h ) 一般被认为是衔接理论创立的标志。韩礼德和 v 兰日 】，一1 h 乃 哈桑将词汇之间具体而复杂的意义关系归纳为两大类：词汇复现和词汇搭配。复现指的是某 一词以原词、同义词、近义词、上义或下义词、概括词或其他形式重复出现在语篇中而实现 衔接。而词汇搭配表示出现在同一语义场的词汇项目同现的现象。侯仪( 1 9 9 1 ) 在语篇中 的词汇模式一书中将语篇中的词汇衔接模式主要概括为以下几种：( 1 ) 简单词汇重复 ( s i m p l el e x i c a lr e p e t i t i o n ) ，( 2 ) 复杂词汇重复( c o m p l e xl e x i c a lr e p e t i t i o n ) ，( 3 ) 简单对应 改写( s i m p l em u t u a lp a r a p h r a s e ) ，( 4 ) 简单部分改写( s i m p l ep a r t i a lp a r a p h r a s e ) ，( 5 ) 复杂 改写( c o m p l e xp a r a p h r a s e ) ，( 6 ) 反义复杂改写( a n t o n y m o u sc o m p l e xp a r a p h r a s e ) ，( 7 ) 词 汇替换( s u b s t i t u t i o n ) ，( 8 ) 共同参照( c o r e f e r e n c e ) ，( 9 ) 词汇省略( e l l i p s i s ) 。国内很多语 言学家如胡壮麟、朱永生等也对语篇中的词汇衔接进行了研究。胡壮麟在语篇的衔接与连 贯一书中将词汇衔接方式分为重复、泛指词、相似性、可分类型和搭配五大类。另外，他 还尝试将这些词汇衔接手段应用于对汉语语篇的分析。朱永生，郑立信，苗兴伟在英汉语 篇衔接手段对比研究一书中对英汉语篇中词汇的几种主要衔接方式( 如：重复、同义词、 反义词和上厂f 义词) 进行了细致的描述。他们基本沿袭了韩礼德对词汇衔接的划分方式， 而且把研究的侧重点放在了英汉语篇衔接方式的对比以及对比结果与文化和社会之间的关 系上。本文中，笔者沿袭了h o e y 的词汇衔接模式并参照h a l l i d a y & h a s a n 的词汇衔接理论的 部分观点对英语新闻语篇的衔接和连贯进行分析，从而突显出词汇衔接对英语新闻语篇的语 对英语听力教学提出一些建议，希望能够有助于学生英语新闻听力理解技能的培养和听力理 解水平的提高，从而改进国内学生英语学习过程中新闻听力学习难度大的问题。 本文第一部分主要介绍了本课题的研究意义和研究目的。在第二部分中笔者回顾了国内 外学者对语篇衔接机制的研究，并突出介绍了词汇衔接模式及其相关应用的研究状况。在第 三部分中，侯仪的词汇重复模式以及韩礼德的词汇衔接模式研究都得到了详细的阐述和比较 研究，从而构成了本问的理论基础。第四部分是本文的主体部分，在该部分中笔者以词汇衔 接机制为基础，对新闻语篇的连贯性和语篇性构建进行了详细的分析。在界定了新闻语篇、 衔接、语篇连贯及其相互关系后，笔者通过对新闻语篇的实例分析，分别从语篇主位推进模 式、篇章主题、语篇语境三个方面讨论了词汇衔接对于整个新闻语篇的连贯性和语篇性构建 的重要作用。继而在第五部分中，笔者将新闻语篇中的词汇衔接研究与英语新闻听力教学相 结合，以词汇衔接模式理论为基础对现今的新闻听力教学提出改进意见，明确并突出词汇衔 接理论在英语新闻听力教学中的作用，主张将二者紧密结合，从而推进二者的共同发展。最 后在第六部分中笔者对本课题的研究进行了总结。 v 学位论文独创性声明 本人郑重声明： 1 、坚持以“求实、创新刀的科学精神从事研究工作。 2
