和诗学观加以分析，证明弥尔顿的诗学理想是恢复人类灵魂中的崇高音乐，从而实 现人类世界同上帝的神圣世界之间的美妙和谐；第二，本文的第一个写作目的实现 的同时，用音乐的思想来解读弥尔顿是个有效的途径就变成了一个不言自明的 事实。 第一章简要回顾了国内外从古至今对弥尔顿的诗歌，散文及史诗的研究。另外 还介绍了音乐和诗歌的内在关系。 第二章是对弥尔顿生平的描述，主要集中在弥尔顿生平中和音乐有关的因素。 这些因素包括他酷爱音乐的父亲，他所受到的教育，他的那些从事音乐事业的朋友 以及他的欧洲之旅。 第三章具体分析了各种古典音乐思想对弥尔顿诗歌创作的影响，并列举了这些 音乐思想在弥尔顿诗歌中的具体表现。 第四章介绍了弥尔顿的宇宙观，音乐观和诗学观，通过分析这三者之间的内在 联系，最后总结出弥尔顿的诗学理想。 第五章得出结论，弥尔顿把诗人作为自己一生的追求，并在其诗歌中大量采用
