摘要 十七世纪的英国出现了大批伟大的诗人，其中尤为引人注目的当属被称为“玄学派 的诗人们，其领军人物为约翰邓恩和乔治赫伯特。赫伯特以其宗教诗著称，他的诗 集圣殿于1 6 3 3 年出版后，赢得了各界人士的广泛赞誉并且至今从未失去过读者。 这广泛而又持久的吸引力的奥秘何在? 主要的原因应在于赫伯特诗歌中强有力的意象， 大胆的多样的神学思想以及独特的诗歌艺术。各种各样的宗教规则，形式和习俗都是他 取之不尽的灵感源泉。本文采用诺思洛普弗莱的原型批评理论，对赫伯特的诗歌艺术 进行研究。全文共分三章，主要从赫伯特诗歌的意象，主题和形式三方面入手，深入探 索和分析赫伯特诗歌中的各种原型。 第一章探索原型理论在赫伯特诗歌意象方面的体现。在诗人眼里，上帝遍及日常生 活的每个角落，身边每个唾手可得的事物都可以拿来入诗。因此创造以宗教为题材的意 象是赫伯特最擅长的诗歌技巧。本章从音乐和叙事效果两方面的意象中探寻其原型。 第二章探讨原型理论在赫伯特诗歌主题方面的体现。作为一名宗教诗人，赫伯特在 他的圣殿中探讨和描述了人和神之间的关系。借助于圣经原型，赫伯特把上帝描述 成为创造万物的权威化身以及降落凡间并关心爱护人类的平民化身。本章着重从上帝这 两方面的形象原型进行研究。
