摘要 翻译对促进文化交流的作用举足轻重，但已出版的大量介绍中国文化遗产书 籍却错误百出。笔者归纳分析了中国通手册丛书的翻译错误，并结合在参与 翻译中国古民居读本留住家园( 该书获2 0 0 3 年浙江图书出版最高奖“树人 奖”) 书中的体会和译例，从翻译要求和委托人角度探讨“目的翻译模式”在 指导中国文化遗产读本英译中的应用。本文认为，翻译发起人或委托人确定的翻 译要求贯穿整个翻译过程的始终，译者应明确翻译要求，并用翻译要求模式对原 语文本进行功能分析，在比较两者异同点的基础上得出翻译原则和翻译策略，以 更好实现译文的预期功能，完成翻译任务。 本文基于奈达对翻译过程及程序的划分，将翻译过程分为三个阶段：译前准 备阶段、实际翻译阶段和译后校稿阶段。本文共八章，其中四到六章为论文主体 部分，以留住家园翻译任务为例，叙述了翻译要求如何在翻译各阶段起核心 作用，即从委托人委托翻译任务，给出明确或暗含于翻译任务的翻译要求，到译 者根据翻译要求制定翻译指导原则和策略，直至最后委托人用翻译要求来衡量译 文是否合格以及译者修改译文。另外，本文试图通过笔者和其他三位译者在合译 留住家园中的实践，为文化遗产读本以及其他翻译领域广大译者提供一种翻 译小组的翻译程序模式，以期提高翻译质量和工作效率。 关键词：目的论；翻译要求；委托人；翻译错误；翻译策略：文化遗产?
