摘要 近年来，人们纷纷尝试从不同角度探索颜色词，并取得了极为丰硕的成果，对 颜色词的意义也有了进一步的认识。在这股新潮中，“摹本颜色词研究”尤为出众， 其成绩也尤为喜人。然而，先前的相关研究无论在深度和广度上都存在种种不足， 或将注意力仅放在一种语言的颜色词而缺少不同语言之间的对比，或未能深入探究 英汉颜色词意义来源的真正原因，如此等等，不一而足。 本文基于“映射理论 ，从映射的角度出发，对英汉颜色词( 仅限基本颜色词) 进行系统比较研究分析大多数语言学家认为颜色词意义的来源即是将源领域映射 到目标领域上，也就是两个领域之间的对应。颜色词所涉及的映射方式主要是投射 映射及语用功能映射。被映射的领域包括风俗习惯、地理位置、宗教、文化等。因 此，文章的重点落在从文化传统、生理感知、宗教及文化交流四个角度分析英汉基 本颜色词的投射映射和语用功能映射，特别是对英汉语言中颜色词意义的映射进行 比较分析，找出基本颜色词意义的来源以及英汉基本颜色词意义的相同处及差异。 不同的历史事件和传统会导致颜色词意义的差别，对于从物质世界所得到信息的解 释和评价也不尽相同，因此，不同语言中颜色词的映射意义有较大差别。但同时也 有相似之处，造成这种情况的主要原因是文化交流及作为意思经验基础的动机，例 如，生理感知、文化及人类使用的工具。 颜色词的翻译作为一种文化沟通，很显然在不同文化交流中有重要的作用。对 于其翻译包括一系列的因素，例如：颜色、文化、源语读者、译语读者、源本、译 文等。对于颜色词的翻译，决不仅仅是机械遵循翻译方法，它需要涉及以上所提及 的因素。通过对英汉颜色词的对比，作者指出动态对等是颜色词翻译的重要原则。 基于以上探讨，文章指出在翻译英汉颜色词中可行的方法包括直译法、借译法及交 际法，并在文章中结合例句进行了详细解释。这些翻译方法的目的都是力求在语义、 语用、文化及功能等方面在两种语言之间达到动态对等。 在文章结构方面，本文共分为七章。其中，第一章是“引言 ，对全文予以概括， 介绍了本文研究的动机、意义，以及研究视野或实用范围。在第二章“文献回顾 部分，本文分别介绍了国外学者和国内学者在该领域的成果及其对本研究的启发， 一并介绍的还有先前研究的不足，而这正是本文研究的目的所在。“映射 是本文的 理论基石，放在了第三章。它包括矗源领域 及“目标领域 、“映射的定义 、“映 射的分类”、“映射的特点”和“总结”，共五小节。第四章讨论了“基本颜色词及其 所涉及的映射，它将颜色词与文章所应用的理论联系起来。本文的主体在第五章， i v “英汉基本颜色词的映射对比”。文章从投射映射及语用功能映射角度按文化传统、 生理感知、宗教及文化交流四个方面对颜色词的映射进行了深入探讨，并辅以丰富 的例证。鉴于英汉基本颜色词意义之间的差别较大，第六章主要分析了动态对等理 论在颜色词翻译中的运用及常用的翻译方法等。最后，在第七章中，作者对全文予 以归纳、概括，并指出了文章不足之处和今后进一步研究的方向。
