c ei so fg r e a th e l pf o rm ei nm yr e s e a r c h 3 摘要 礼貌研究是过去几十年里语用学研究中的一个较新的领域。礼貌语言在各民 族语言中占有重要地位，各民族对礼貌行为的理解也不尽相同。这都引起了语言 学家对礼貌现象的研究兴趣。 礼貌与言语行为密切相关，它直接体现在各种言语行为之中，如称谓语、招 呼语、告别语、请求语、恭维语及回应等。同一种言语行为在不同的民族中有不 同的表达方式，其差异涉及语言形式及内容。有时，一种文化中的礼貌用语在另 一种文化中会被视为无礼，这也是造成跨文化语用失误的原因之一。 本文在总结前人对礼貌研究的基础上，指出礼貌用语与文化密切相关。中西 方对礼貌的理解不同，归根结底是由两种文化的差异造成的，并通过对比汉英恭 维语及回应来佐证这一观点。 本文共分四章。引言部分简单介绍了本文的研究目的和研究内容。第一章回 顾了以往学者对礼貌研究的成果。本章主要介绍了迄今为止本领域中最有代表性 的四种理论，即布朗和列文森的面子保全论，莱考夫对礼貌现象的研究，利奇的 礼貌原则及中国学者顾说国对汉语礼貌现象的研究，并指出中西方礼貌框架的差 异。第二章通过对汉英恭维语及回应的对比分析进一步找出两种语言在礼貌表达 上的差异。第三章论述了中西方文化的差异，指出汉英礼貌用语的差异源于两种 不同的文化背景，同时也从文化方面解释了第二章中两种语言在使用上的不同。 本章在讨论文化现象的同时力图将礼貌语言与文化结合起来，从而进一步突出文 化对礼貌语言的影响。第四章对本文要点作了简单的概括，并指出了今后的研究 方向。 关键词：礼貌；文化；汉语；英语；恭维语；回应 4 a b s t r a c t p 0 l i t e
