中文摘要 无论英语或汉语，省略都是一种历史悠久的语言现象。本文所研究的“经验 省略概念借用自小说家马原，用以描述作者利用人所共知的感知方式及规律， 省略冗言赘词的写作方法。由于话语理解是一个动态的过程，为了正确理解话语， 人们大脑中存在着一系列的语境假设，也即受话人在话语交际中总是在充分理解 某句话之前就已经激活某种缺省预设。没有说出来的部分会在受话者心里产生影 响并引起心理共鸣。这种省略技巧最大限度地调动了读者的经验参与，其广泛应 用也使得表达日趋简洁，交流更加高效。 本文首先回顾了过去四十年来国内外学者对缺省及缺省翻译的研究。从以往 的研究成果来看，诸多学者倾力于文化缺省的研究，并普遍将翻译缺省全归于文 化缺省。在前人研究成果的基础上，本文提出进一步细分缺省现象，将其分为社 会一文化缺省、情境缺省及语言缺省，统称为经验缺省。鉴于翻译是一种双语活动， 本文提出应从英汉两种语言分别研究缺省现象，即原文经验省略部分的译文翻译 措施，以及原文清楚明晰而译文采用经验省略的情况。由于译文采用经验省略的 翻译方法鲜有研究，但却是一种值得注意的现象，因此本文认为研究经验省略在 译文中的应用对于翻译实践有重要的意义。 本文认为，鉴于翻译行为动态的认知关联特征，关联理论对翻译现象有很强 的解释力。关联理论把语言交际看作是一个明示一推理过程，翻译同样也是这一 过程。在语码转换过程中，关联性起着关键作用，决定着译文信息和形式等相关 因素的取舍。 本文以诺贝尔文学奖得主托尼莫里森的名著宠儿为范本研究该书中的 经验省略现象并以王友轩及潘岳、雷格的两部译本研究译文中采用经验省略的情 况。本文结论如下：经验省略是一种普遍存在的现象，由于原语及译语文化背景 不同，为便于译语读者理解，原文经验省略的部分需要在译文中将其显化，而对
