摘要 诗歌作为一种语言高度浓缩的文学体裁，以寥寥数语，就表达了丰富的 意境与情感。英诗汉译作为译学界一个不小的领域，其难度更是可想而知。 首先，中外文化背景迥异，社会风俗习惯千差万别，英汉两种语言分属不同 语系，语言风格大相径庭。其次，英诗汉译不仅要求译者有较高的英语理解和 欣赏能力，亦要求有很高的汉语素养和诗歌才能。另外，诗歌作为一种特殊 的文学体裁，以其优美凝炼的语言，深邃的思想和如歌的节奏见长。翻译中 要想再现原诗语言、思想等各方面的色彩并非易事。因为译者必须既是诗人 又是匠人，他既要用诗人的悟性和匠人的精确去把握原诗，又要有诗人的才 气和匠人的细致把原诗的语言和语言后面隐隐发光的东西尽可能地用对等 的水平转换过来。 本文从介绍诗歌的定义，分类，构成要素以及特点着手，帮助了解和分 析了英文诗歌的内在构成尤其是格律方面的基本特点，进而介绍了翻译理论 和相关英诗汉译的理论、翻译代表、翻译方法和阶段特点。并就诗歌的可译 性问题和诗歌的美学特征展开讨论，探究了英诗汉译的现状、局限和发展趋 势。 本文共分为五章。第一章，介绍了诗歌的定义，和英诗的特征、分类， 以及中英诗歌的语言和文化差异。第二章，介绍了翻译理论，主要是三个理
