摘要 摘要 威廉卡洛斯威廉斯目前被认为是美国二十世纪最伟大的作家之一，是和艾略特、庞德同时代 的诗人。作为诗人兼医生的威廉斯一生治病救人，笔耕不辍，锐意创新，致力于探索诗歌民族化的 道路。身处美国现代主义诗歌全盛时期的威廉斯，其诗歌自然带有鲜明的现代主义特征，但他的诗 作和诗学思想对美国后现代诗歌创作产生了巨大影响。因此，对其诗歌的现代性特征和后现代性特 征进行识别、阐释和区别研究对于探讨美国后现代诗歌的渊源等具有重大意义。国内外对威廉斯的 研究已有不少著述，但尚未发现从此角度所作的研究，本论文欲依照美国著名后现代文论家伊哈布 哈桑等关于现代主义和后现代主义的理论在此方面作一些尝试。 本论文共分为四大章。笫一章为绪论，主要介绍了本论文的选题意义，作者生平和主要文学成 就以及国内外对威廉斯研究的现状与成果，为本论文的研究找到一个依托和基础 第二章着重介绍了哈桑等关于现代主义和后现代主义的理论。 第三章为奉- e e 文主体部分，依照哈桑等关于现代主叉和后现代主义的理论对威廉斯诗作的现代 主义特征和后现代主义特征进行了识别、阐释和区别研究。 在现代主义特征方面，本论文对威廉斯的长诗佩特森和短小抒情诗分别进行了探讨，其中 包括对主题、结构和写作手法的讨论。佩特森中所包含的现代主义特征主要体现在其结构的统一、 神话和象征的运用以及现代工- , 2 k 城市中人的意志的异化主题等方面。威廉斯短小抒情诗中的现代主 义特征主要体现在其意象主义诗歌特征方面：简洁、浓缩、具体、即时，直接、客观、意象鲜明。 威廉斯诗歌的后现代主义特征分四个方面来阐释：自涉、混杂文体、零散化和反传统。自涉技 巧的运用主要表现在佩特森中主人公追寻“补救的语言”的过程、失败和希望反射了诗人在现 实中的追寻过程、失败和希望。佩特森中散文和韵文的混杂打破了传统文体的界限。不论是威廉 斯的长诗还是短诗均体现出明显的零散化特征，具体表现在蒙太奇和拼贴手法的运用上。小故事、 个人习语和地方主义策略集中体现了诗人对传统的颠覆。 第四部分是本论文的结论。基于上述的研究和分析，本论文力图得出以下结论：作为一个整体， 威廉斯的短小抒情诗既有现代主义特征又有后现代主义特征；其长诗佩特森在主题和结构上表
