摘要 新闻是大众传媒的重要组成形式之一，通过新闻，人们可以获取信息、了解 世界、扩大视野、增长知识。新闻标题是新闻的眼睛，是对新闻主要内容的高度 艺术概括，其主要的功能是吸引读者的注意，使其有兴趣继续阅读。英语新闻标 题语言简炼、可读性强、艺术味道浓厚、新颖奇特，与其它文体有较大的差异。 本文试图探讨新闻标题与新闻的关系，从变异和过分规则性突出两方面，研究英 语新闻标题的吸引功能，讨论新闻标题的文体特色。 新闻标题有许多功能，其最主要的功能是吸引功能。本文引用了信息度理论 来说明。还运用了主位化理论讨论标题和新闻之间的关系：新闻标题是新闻的主 位，标题和新闻互为影响。 本文探讨和总结了前景化理论，并从变异和过分规则性突出两方面全面讨论 新闻标题的文体特色。为了达到吸引功能，新闻标题写作者们在书写、词、旬、 语义各层面上变异。书写的变异表现为多样的标题排列形式、标点符号、故意错 拼单词等方面。新闻标题词汇特别之处在于运用缩略词、简略词及新词来缩小单 词。省略是新闻标题句法上的显著特征。为了简洁，标题中的功能词大量删减。 标题中修辞手法的大量运用，使标题艺术魅力无穷。语音，词，旬各层面上的过 分规则性突出也使新闻标题更加引人入胜。头韵、尾韵、短词、生动的动词、肯
