)内容摘要语码转换是近年来语言学研究领域中颇受关注的话题，研究者们从句法学、社会语言学、心理语言学、语用学和话语分析等角度对其进行了大量研究。而且语码转换被视为双语制研究中的重要内容，对它在双语课堂中的应用的研究尤其具有重要意义。本文研究的是大学英语教师在非英语专业学生的英语课堂上的英汉语码转换现象，即大学英语教师在为母语为中文的学生教授英语过程中使用中文的现象。从二十世纪八十年代开始，就长期存在着关于是否应该在外语教学中使用母语的争论，并由此导致语言内教学策略和跨语言教学策略的划分。语言内教学策略认为在外语教学中，外语是教师唯一能够使用的语言。教师在课堂上应最大限度地使用外语，避免使用母语，以保证对学生的外语输入。而跨语言教学策略则不认为学生所承受的外语输入越多，他们的外语学习就会越好。相反，在某些情形之下，采用恰当的方式在外语教学中使用母语，更有利于学生了解和掌握外语，从而使其成为真正的外语学习者而不仅是模仿者。鉴于此类争议，本文采取了问卷调查和实验的方法对大学英语教师课堂中英汉语码转换的情况进行了研究。问卷以从西南大学和重庆师范大学的中文系、数学系中选取的共四个自然班为主体，主要从学生的角度来查证大学英语教师在课堂语码转换的现状、教学的不同方面与教师语码转换的关系、教师语码转换对学生英语学习的影响以及教师语码转换的原因。根据对问卷结果的频率分析，本文的结论是：大学英语教师在课堂上的语码转换现象普遍存在并受到大部分学生的赞同；在教学的不同方面学生对教师的语码转换有着不同的态度和标准；大部分学生认为教师的内容摘要、语码转换对学生的英语学习有积极的影响；大部分学生认为教师语码转换的原因是为了更好的表达自己、翻译某些字句和强调某些内容。而问卷结果的相关分析表明，学生对教师语码转换的态度和学生的性别、英语水平( 以高考英语成绩来衡量) 密切相关，而和学生的专业相关不太大。另外，受性别比例、英语水平差异的影响，两校学生的态度之间的差异也相当大。在调查结论的基础之一l ，本文设计了一个实验：由同一教师对同一自然班分别采取跨语言教学策略和语言内教学策略教授个新的单元，根据两个单元测试结果的差异来看两种策略对学生英语学习的影响。根据对实验结果的统计分析，本文得出明显的结论：教师在英语教学中适当使用中文可促进大部分学生对单词短语的记忆与运用，以及对文章结构和细节的理解，从而促进学生的英语学习。相反，如果在英语教学中彻底禁止使用中文，将可能阻碍新知识的输入，从而对学生的英语学习造成负面影响。根据问卷调查和实验的结果，本文讨论了在英语教学中教师应该在何时、怎样正确使用中文、英语教学中使用中文的最佳比率、教师在英语教学中使用中文应遵循的原则等问题，总结了本文存在的局限性，并在最后提出本文对大学英语教学的意义。关键词：语码转换双语制研究语言内教学策略跨语言教学策略m
