英汉幽默语言的对比与翻译 摘要 幽默在我们的日常生活中几乎无处不在。它给人以轻松诙谐之感，不仅利于活跃气 氛、缓和矛盾，而且提高了人们的精神境界。幽默有多种表现形式，其中较为常见的是 语言形式。幽默语言具有普遍性，各个民族都有幽默的语言。本文主要是对英汉幽默语 言进行对比研究，并探讨了幽默语言+ 的翻译问题。论文首先对比英语和汉语中用语言创 造幽默的情况，通过从修辞格，语音、词语、句法手段、歧义现象等创造幽默的语言手 段的逐项比较，并以较多的幽默实例证明：英语和汉语创造幽默的语言手段有相似之处。 此外，幽默语言是一种社会文化现象，它往往与宗教信仰、社会观念、文化习俗等有着 密切的关系。东西方文化的特色不可避免地反映在各自的语言上，使得英汉幽默语言各 自有着丰富的文化内涵，东西文化背景的人对幽默语言的使用有着不同之处。本文在对 中西文化进行对比的基础上，专门就在美国文化和中国文化分别影响下的英汉幽默语言 的差异提出三个假设：中国人和美国人的幽默语言的主题不同；幽默语言的功能不同； 幽默语言的艺术体裁不同。这些假设从中外一些从事幽默研究的学者的论述以及具体实 例得到证明。本文还探讨了幽默语言的翻译问题。首先分析了幽默语言的可译性和不可 译性，并指出在翻译一些语言创造的幽默和文化幽默时，译者往往无法同时保留原文的 意思与幽默功能，这些幽默被认为是不可译的，但是如果从奈达的“功能对等”的角度 出发，不可译的幽默又是可译的：即译者可以通过改变原文文本的意思来保留译文的幽 默功能，以尽可能地实现和原文的功能对等。本文分别对不可译的语言创造的幽默和文 化幽默提出了具体的翻译策略，并以实例说明了这些策略的具体运用。 关键词：幽默语言对比翻译 i-i。， - ac o n t r a s t i v es t u d
