硕士学位论文 m a s r e r s t i i e s i s 摘要 数字用于表示数目，是所有语言中的共同现象，任何民族都离不开数的 概念和计数的需要。随着人类社会的进步，数字与人们的生产斗争、科学实验、 社会生活的各个方面的关系更加紧密，数字在语言中也得到了相应的发展。 数字是语言的一个有机组成部分，在不同的文化背景下，数字被赋予以 不同的文化内涵，而数字习语，更是语言中的核心与精华，是人类智慧的结晶。 它具有浓厚的民族色彩、历史色彩和地方色彩，在一定的深度和广度上反映了 不同民族的文化个性。再由于思维作为人脑反映现实的过程，是全人类的共性。 因此，不同民族虽然在自然环境、社会制度、历史演变、风俗习惯、宗教信仰、 道德观念、文化积淀以及思维方式等方面存在着差异，但其判断、推理的逻辑 形式却基本相同。因而，在认识自然、社会及人类自身的过程中，东西方各民 族又在许多方面有着极相似的表现。其中，数字在人类语言中的运用就是不同 语言间的普遍现象。 数字习语具有强烈的文化特征，通常简练、生动、形象。不论是数字谚 语、数字典故还是数字俚语，都体现了数字习语的言简意赅、妙趣横生。中国 文化中的数字四字成语、数字歇后语和数字对联，为汉语所独有。要想能理解 和把握两种文化中的数字习语，就必须从文化背景入手，从其结构、语法、句 法功能、语义特征及修饰特点来分析它们。在英汉数字习语的相互理解过程中， 学习者需要弄清数字习语所具有的形象比喻、丰富联想、修辞效果以及民族地 方特色等等。本文从种类，语法，修辞等方面比较了英汉数字习语，并从形式 和意义上对比了英语和汉语中的数字习语。 本文共分四章：第一章语言与文化谈到文化的概念，语言是文化的 一部分，它们互相影响、互相作用，汉英两种不同的语言分别反映着各自民族 的特征，中国人要了解英语必须了解英语国家的文化，而理解其文化也必须了 解其语言，反之亦然。第二章数字的文化内涵英汉两种语言中都有其基本 数字，在各自的文化中都扮演着重要的角色，不同的数字与心理学、神学、宗 教都有着十分密切的关系。第三章英汉数字习语的种类和语法、修辞对比 本章主要分析了荚汉数字习语的种类，语法，修辞等。英汉数字习语包括数字 俚语、数字谚语和数字典故t ，而四字数字成语、数字对联和数字歇后语是汉语 所独有的，本章还对英汉数字习语从语法、语义和修辞的角度进行了对比分析， 英汉数字习语的结构、句法功能和修辞特点有同有异，但由于文化的不同，其 语义在大部分情况下都是有差异的。第四章从形式和意义上对比分析英汉数 字习语。数字习语含有丰富的文化内涵。英语国家和中国由于文化上既有共性 又有差异性，表现为数字习语在形式和意义上完全对应、部分对应或缺少对应。 作者认为，对英汉数字习语的比较能帮助人们相互理解不同的文化，有助 于人们更好地进行跨文化、跨语言的交往。这种对比还有助于翻译活动。在翻 译数字习语时，人们可以根据语言间文化上的相同与差异决定其翻译策略。 关键词：数字习语：语言；文化；文化内涵：数字； 、 _ _ -
