y a n g z h o uu n i v e r s i t y ：m at h e s i s 中文摘要 本文研究描述了中国英语专业三年级学生在限时和非限时说明文写作条件下 程式化语言使用的总体特征，主要回答四个问题：1 ) 英语学习者说明文写作中程 式化语言使用的总体特征呈何表现? 2 ) 在限时和非限时两种写作条件下，学习者 程式化语言的使用情况有何差异? 3 ) 不同水平的学习者在程式化语言的使用上呈 现何种差异? 4 ) 学习者说明文写作中有哪类程式化语言可以预测写作成绩吗? 研究使用的语料为6 0 篇英语说明文。其中3 0 篇限时作文来源于中国学习者 语料库( s w e c c l 2 0 ) ，3 0 篇非限时作文出自扬州大学外国语学院英语专业三年 级学生的课后习作。两类作文中分别抽取1 6 篇据其成绩分为高、低水平组。通过 数据统计分析，结果如下： 一、学习者使用的程式化语言占说明文总字符数的2 1 5 ，类型符比达到0 2 6 。 在所有统计的程式化语言中，约7 4 是重复使用。这说明学习者可供使用的程式化 语言数量不多，且种类单一。根据语言形式，进入统计的程式化语言可以分成四 类：短语层面固定程式化语言( f i x e d f o r m u l a i cs e q u e n c e sa t p h r a s el e v e l ) ，短语层 面半固定程式化语言( s e m i - f i x e d f o r m u l a i cs e q u e n c e sa t p h r a s el e v e l ) ，句子层面固 定程式化语言( f i x e d f o r m u l a i cs e q u e n c e sa ts e n t e n c el e v e l ) ，句子层面半固定程式化 语言( s e m i - f i x e d f o r m u l a i cs e q u e n c e sa ts e n t e n c el e v e l ) 。总体来看，固定和半固定 程式化语言的使用频次相当，这说明学习者在说明文写作中同时使用了基于记忆 和基于规则的程式化语言。在四类程式化语言中，学习者使用最多的是短语层面 固定程式化语言，这可能是由于基于记忆的程式化语言便于学习者提取使用。 二、独立样本t 检验结果显示，限时和非限时作文在程式化语言的使用频次 上整体上具有显著性差异，但在种类上并无显著差异。这说明写作时间影响程式 化语言的产出数量，但对其种类的多样性影响不大。涉及具体的程式化语言种类， 两类作文在使用短语层面固定和半固定程式化语言上均具有显著差异。 三、独立样本t 中程式化语言使用的频次和种类均具有显著性差异。该结果显示：高水平学习者 掌握的程式化语言数量和种类均超过低水平者。具体涉及到程式化语言的使用类 型，有两种情况。在限时作文中，高低分组学习者在短语层面的固定程式化语言 和句子层面的半固定程式化语言使用上存在显著性差异，而在非限时作文中，半 固定程式化语言在短语层面和句子层面的使用在不同水平学习者之间存在显著性 差异。换言之，除了句子层面的固定程式化语言，高分组学习者使用的其它三类 程式化语言远多于低分组学习者。以上结果说明：程式化语言的使用频次和种类 可以作为评价学习者作文水平的一个有效考量工具。 四，相关分析表明，两类作文中程式化语言的使用频次及种类和作文成绩都 呈正相关。多元回归分析显示，限时作文中，短语层面固定和半固定程式化语言 对写作成绩都具有预测性，固定程式化语言的预测性更强；而在非限时作文中， 句子层面半固定程式化语言具有预测性。 本研究的研究结果对教学有几点启示o 1 ) 研究结果证实了传统的背诵记忆法 能有效提高学生的写作能力，不应摒弃；2 ) 程式化语言可作为作文评分的一个有 效指标来衡量语言的准确性和词汇的丰富度；3 ) 英语学习者须有意识地使用程
