本文主要结合马拉默德的伙计、装配工以及新生活来探讨其小说中 的犹太性。以往的研究主要是对构成犹太性的某个层面去进行文本阐释，所以就不 能充分、准确地认识到小说中的犹太性。本研究主要是把文本放在犹太历史与文化 的语境中去考察马拉默德小说中的犹太性。通过对马拉默德的道德观、独特的同化 现象以及幽默地语言这三个层面进行文化解读，从而发现呈现在马拉默德小说中的 犹太品性。犹太文化是马拉默德的创作源泉，也是帮助理解其作品深层次内涵的钥 匙。不了解马拉默德作品中特定的文化内涵，便会极大的妨碍对其文本意义的准确 破解以及对作家艺术创作的客观评价。本论文包括五个部分。 第一部分首先介绍作家马拉默德的生平及其主要作品。其次就马拉默德的研究 现状做了综述，继而提出本文的论题。 第二部分主要探讨了马拉默德的道德观，其中心思想就是忍受苦难，通过忍受 苦难可以获得道德上的见识，从而实现道德上的转化。道德观的一个重要组成部分 是把犹太人作为一种道德的象征，并且这种象征意义使犹太人泛化成一种普遍意义 上的人，这体现了马拉默德“每个人都是犹太人”的思想，它表明只有大家彼此都 采取一种负责任的态度，犹太人与非犹太人之间的冲突才会得到控制，从而达到一 种和谐共存的局面。此外，追求新生活也是马拉默德道德观的一个重要组成部分，
