To learn some new words.教学难点:To understand the main idea of each paragraph of the article.课前准备A tape recorder, multimedia and some pictures.教学过程Step1 Talk about what you can do with a mobile phone.Work in pairs. Talk about what you can use a mobile phone to do.-I can use a mobile phone to call people/play music/take photos-【设计意图】本活动旨在让学生说出尽可能多的手机的用途,锻炼学生的发散性思维,同时导入本单元的话题。Step2 Look at the picture and say whats happening.1.Look at the picture and say what the accident is.2.draw the answers from the students.3.Write the answers on the board for a prediction task.【设计意图】本活动的主要目的是通过观察图片培养学生的联想、预测和表达能力。Step3 Read the passage and check your answers to Activity2.1. Where did the snake bite him? 2. When did Jackson pick up his mobile phone?3. Why couldnt the doctor help him at first?【设计意图】本活动要求学生通过阅读课文检测自己前面的预测是否与课文内容相近或相符,并让学生进一步体会过去进行时的用法。Step4 Read the passage and choose the correct answer.1. First let the Ss read the passage carefully and then choose the answer according the passage.2. Elicit answers from the whole class with the students reading out the full sentences.【设计意图】本活动主要考查学生对课文细节的理解和掌握。Step5 Complete the passage with the correct form of the words in the box.1.Read the passage carefully and get the main idea. 2.Choose the words from the box, then use the correct form to fill in the blanks.3.Elicit answers in full sentences.【设计意图】本活动是对课文中出现的重点词汇的操练。Step6 Write a short story about an accident.1. Find these words and expressions in the passage in Activity 3.2. Look at how they are used to tell the story.3. Use the words and expressions to write a new story.4. Nominate a few students to share their stories.【设计意图】本活动要求学生模仿课文,参考所给的表示时间顺序的常用词语和表达,叙述一个新故事。Step7. Homework1.Make sentences with “when” and “while”.
