辽宁师范大学硕士学位论文 摘要 金斯利 艾米斯是一位杰出的讽刺小说家 被视作 愤怒的青年 的代表 愤 怒的青年 是二十世纪五 六十年代英国文坛上的一股文学运动浪潮 主要参与者为处 于社会中下层的年轻作家和文学青年 他们不满当时的社会制度和规定 采取与之对抗 的态度 艾米斯凭借风靡一时的 幸运的吉姆 享誉文坛 主人公吉姆 迪克森 当时 最受欢迎的反英雄人物并未渴望成为一名 绅士 因为尽管受过大学教育 吉姆的文 化观完全不同于被赋予高雅文化之称的上流社会文化观 这也就是说 不仅金斯利 艾 米斯本人 还有其他同时代的 愤怒的青年 都觉察到英国文化有些不对劲 他们想要 改变 在艾米斯的 幸运的吉姆 中 作者主要做的事情就是剔除那些有教养的道德行 为中矫揉造作的表现 目前 已经有大量对 幸运的吉姆 的评论文章 国内大多数的研究都从幽默和讽 刺的写作手法这一角度出发 或是研究社会政治背景和文化冲突在 幸运的吉姆 中的 表现 至于国外的研究 他们仍旧偏爱弗吉尼亚 伍尔芙和詹姆斯 乔伊斯的 现代主义 小说 英国战后文学并没有得到热衷的研究 因此 本文的重要目的之一就是打破这 种研究僵局并激发国内学者对英国战后文学研究的新兴趣 本文采用的研究方法 广义上称作性别研究是相对比较新的一个文学研究方法 本 文的思想启发主要来自苏珊 布鲁克的博士论文 在她的文章中提到了那一时期知识分 子的生存状态 这也是性别焦虑和重塑男性气质第一次被提及 但是 布鲁克并没有将 幸运的吉姆 置于性别理论研究的范式下进行深入的研究 因此 本文的另一个研究 目的 即将 幸运的吉姆 置于性别理论研究的范式下进行研究 为今后对于 愤怒的 青年 文学研究开辟新的研究方法 在金斯利 艾米斯和吉姆眼中 学术界上层权势失去了纯正的英国人应该具备的美 德 他们通过公然藐视学术界伪知识分子的需求 作为摒弃矫揉造作和虚伪行为的方式 并达到体现反抗上层阶级带有 女性气质 的文化的目的 小说中吉姆并没有失去自己 的文化价值观而获得了社会的认可 但是他的反抗与个人渴望成功紧密相连 而并不寄 希望于改变社会 因此 本文的研究结果表明个人的男性气质回归获得了成功 但对于 整个社会 金斯利 艾米斯和幸运的吉姆都具有自身的局限性 爪人的成功并没有为 解决社会问题提供出路 关键词 男性气质 性别 愤怒的青年 r e j u v e n a
