Teaching ExplanationBook 1 Unit 9 Do you want to go to a movie?Part I Analysis of the teaching material1. StatusThis class is the section A of this unit. It shows four kinds of movies (action movie, comedy, documentary and thriller) and asks about others preference .This is a interesting topic, and it have close relationship with our life. So, such kind of design well considered Ss interests and demands. And it can stimulate Ss learning motivation and enthusiasm.2. Key points:The new words and expression in this section3. Difficult pointsDifferent express of different personal pronounDifferent answer of positive and negativePart II Analysis of the Students1. Junior Ss in Grade 1 are very active and interested in the things closed with our life. So they must be interested in todays topic2. Junior Ss just started to learn English, this topic will be stimulated Ss motivation and they must be like to join us.Part III Teaching aims1. Learn to talk about self preference 2. Learn to ask about others preference1) Knowledge objectiveEnable Ss to master new words and expression2) Ability objectivesa. Enabling Ss to get information from the text correctly and effectivelyb. Cultivating Ss to collect information from life3) Emotional objectivesa. Guiding Ss to join in my class on their own initiativeb. Enabling Ss to love movie and know the classification of moviesPart IV Teaching aids and teaching methods:1. Teaching aids: PPT and Pictures.2. Teaching methods: Task-based Approach and Situational Teaching MethodWhy I adopt the two methods is based on the following reasons:1) According to the New Standards of English Curriculum, it advocated that the best way of learning language is to make Ss use target language to do things, that is, to finish the tasks. And it requires teacher to make a Ss-centered class. So the two methods can help me realize it.2) The content of this class is closely related to our daily life, so Ss must be interested in it and like to join it.Part V Studying strategies1. Learn to preview the lesson.2. Learn to comprehend or express with the aids of a chart or pictures.Part VI Teaching procedures1. Preparation for class (3-5mins)First of all, show some pictures of movies poster to the Ss. Then, at the beginning of class, ask Ss whats kind of movie I showed them. 2. Teach vocabulary and listen to the radio (10mins)First, teach the new words about movies. Then, let them linked the words with the pictures. Last, let them listen the radio carefully.3. Communication between Ss (10mins)a. Do you want to go to a movie?b. What kind of movie do you like?Five students in every group discuss the two questions. Every group elected a reporter to answer the two questions.4. Situational communication (15mins)Five students in every group discuss the following questions. Then, every question asks three groups make practice. Situation:As parents, you and your friend passing through a cinema, looked the movie poster, then, you ask your friend: “Do you want to go to a movie?” “What kind of movie do you want to see?”Part VII. Homework:Oral work: Read and recite new words and dialogue learned in this lesson.Written work: a. Finish off the workbook b.
