The Third Part I am talking about greeting , clothing , perfume and make up in nonverbal communication .There are many difference in culture between China and America .If you want to attend a party in America you still have to consider some more nonverbal communication of greeting, clothing , perfume and make up .GreetingFrom our lesson we know that greeting in nonverbal communication is reflected in touching, and also touching is a common part of many greeting rituals. from shaking hands to cheek-kissing to full body hugs ,such touching can cantina different greeting way ,As we know ,different countries have different greeting ways .In China, shaking hands is the common greeting way ,if you are meeting at the fist time ,people would like to use two hands to shake too expresses cordial and respect ,hugging is used in the old friends and family members that have not seen for a long time .In America, the standard greeting is a smile, often accompanied by a nod, wave or verbal greeting. they always like to have a kiss on the others face. and good friends and family members usually embrace, finishing the embrace with a pat or two on the back , A handshake is very firm. In America you should know these different greeting ways.Clothing In interpersonal interaction, dressing directly affects others impression of you, so it is important to choose certain dress when attending any parties .And if you want to attend the party in America .you should consider two points.The first point is considering the situation. Before attending the party, you should know that which kind of party you are going to attend, and then depending on the character of the party to choose your certain clothing. For the wedding partyWedding partyCheongsamChinese tunic suitIn China people would like to dress traditional clothing to attend the wedding party .women like to dress cheongsam, and the old men would like to dress Chinese tunic suit. AmericaBut in America, the women like to dress evening gown, and the men would like to dress Tuxedo to attend the wedding party.For the official dinner party ChinaAmericaIn China ,youd better dress formally to attend the official dinner party ,but if you do so ,it will be very strange in America ,the people will feel very uncomfortable ,because they will think that having a dinner also is a part of your work . they always like to dress the lounge suit or casual clothing to make themselves relax as more as possible after the work.The second point is considering the color. As we know color is a important part in cultural communication ,if you dont consider it ,you will make mistake easily .In China, red yellow and bright colors are very popular ,especially red and yellow ,because they represent cordial and elegance. But in America is not, they are fond of light colors ,and the important think is that the whole body black is taboo in the party ,because it is for the funeral .Perfume Different people have different taste for perfume, some people like wear light perfume, and others like wear mild or strong perfume. In China, wearing light perfume to attend the party is a polite, but it is not in America, people would like to wear mild or strong perfume to attend the party, because they think it seems more attractive.Make-up Having a make-up to attend the party is a polite. In China people like to have a light make-up to attend the party, because they think that is safety and convenient. But in America people would like to depend on the character of the party to making their make-up.If you dont know hoe to do these, youd better ask your friends. and also in order not to make mistake and embarrass ,youd better try your best to understand and accept the difference .In conclusion As we know , globalization is becoming more and more widely ,which also can be reflected in culture ,especially
