论唐诗英译中语用预设的传递 王小辉 摘要预设的概念源于哲学界 德国的哲学家 逻辑学家g f r e g e 在他所写 的 意义和所指 一文中首次提到了预设的概念 预设概念进入语言学界后 众多 学者对此进行了长期 深入的探讨和研究 使其使用范围不断扩大 后来的学者 根据研究成果 将预设分为语义预设和语用预设 语义预设的理论将语义视为句 子的固定属性 而且主要是从真值条件对预设进行定义 二十世纪七十年代以后 语义预设的理论逐渐被放弃 因为越来越多的学者发现 单从真值条件来研究预 设 是不具说服力的 此后 学者们从语用的角度对预设进行了研究 并对语用 预设进行了归类总结 语用预设的研究成果引起了翻译界学者的关注 如德国的 研究人员 n o r d v e r m e e r 等 从翻译的角度对预设进行了系统的研究 经过研 究 人们发现 在翻译中 语义预设的传递是容易的 而如何向译文读者传递语 用预设 是一个值得进一步探讨的问题 唐诗是我国源远流长的古典诗歌发展史上的一座丰碑 也是我国古典诗歌的 一座艺术宝库 因为诗人可以利用语用预设传递丰富的思想感情 因此如何向译 文读者传递语用预设是唐诗翻译的难题之一 本文旨在寻找一种解决此问题的有 效途径 第一章对预设的研究进程作了回顾 并分别介绍了语义预设和语用预设 第二章对唐诗中的语用预设进行了研究 将唐诗中所涉及的主要的语用预设 分为六类 并对语用预设在唐诗中的美学价值进行了探讨 意象是中国诗歌的一 个重要范畴 它以形象化的语言来暗示 又引导读者从感觉世界走向情感与理性 交织的世界 意境是主观情志和客观物象的整体性的融合 这种融合产生了虚实 相应的结构效应 并且激活欣赏者的想象的艺术空i 一 象 外之 境 本文通 过两首具体的唐诗 举例说明了语用预设在塑造意象和意境方面的美学价值 第三章从语用预设的角度探讨了唐诗的翻译 首先分析了在唐诗翻译过程中 传递语用预设的重要性 并指出将唐诗中作为预设触发语的短语的字面意思翻译 成英文以后 会在译文中出现三种不同的情况 激发相同或相近的语用预设 激 发不同的语用预设 不能激发任何语用预设 这便给唐诗翻译过程中语用预设的 传递带来了困难 本文针对此种情况 提出了译者在唐诗翻译中应该采取的策略 第四章从传递语用预设的角度 首先对四首唐诗的不同译本进行y x 扯k 分析 进而提出了在唐诗翻译中传递语用预设的五种具体翻译方法 最后指出了本文在 研究方面的局限性 基于以上理论及实践方面的分析及论述 本文得出这样的结论 语用预设在 交际中有着不可忽视的作用 并在唐诗中有其重要的美学价值 唐诗翻译是一种 复杂的交际活动 译者在唐诗翻译的过程中 要重视向译文读者传递原文的语用 预设 要达到这一目的 译者首先要充分理解原文
