Unit 4 Do you like pears?The first periodThe analysis of this period: This period is the first period of the PEP 3b book unit 4, it requires the Ss master several English words about the fruit and can understand the order. The analysis of the Ss: The teaching object is the grade 3 Ss, they are lively and active, they like to try new things, with curiousness and competitiveness, but with unstable and non-lasting attention. Teaching Aimsa. Knowledge goals :watermelon、 peach、 pear、 orange 、fruit b. Abilities goals :Ss can use the target language to discuss the fruit which they like; Ss can understand the order and color the above fruit c. Sing a song:The more we get together b. Greet the Ss, using the sentences the students learned before, eg:How are you? How old are you? Divide the Ss into two groups, the group which acts better will get a star, the group which gets more stars will win.【Grouping is for organizing teaching activities more effectively, and introduce competition mechanisms so as to make Ss involved actively.】【Design purpose:Singing and greetings not only can activate the class atmosphere, but also make Ss relaxed in order to make them access into learning state quickly.】Step 2 Lead inRiddle guessing:It is round and green, it is juicy and sweet, people love to eat in the summer, what is it?(watermelon)After the answer announced, the teacher says that today we will learn some English words about fruit.【Design purpose:It can focus and maintain Ssattention through a riddle guessing, thus guide Ss into the content of this period naturally.】Step 3 PresentationThe teacher shows a bag which filled with lots of fruit, ask Ss to guess what they are,then ask them whether they know the English expressions about these fruit, then the teacher teaches these words(watermelonpeachpearorange ) with the real things.【Design purpose:Presenting real things can make Ss have a visual perception, which fits more into primary Sscognitive process.】 Step 4 Practice a. Little game:High and low voice b. Little game:Whats missing? First show all kinds of fruit , then take away a kind of fruit and ask Ss whats missing?c. Color match:We know the peach is pink, the pear is yellow, the orange is orange, the watermelon is green, if the teacher says some certain color, Ss should say the corresponding fruit and vice verse. d. Lets play:Ss prepare paper and crayon in advance, they draw the corresponding fruit and color it according to the teachers order.【Design purpose:Use little games as a means of practicing can make Ss interested in English study as well as master the learned contents better. Games can arouse Ssinvoluntary attention, making the teaching activities colorful, besides fruit and color link together enhance Sss comprehensive abilities .】Step 5 Sum up Summarize what we learned in this period.
