山东师范大学硕士学位论文 摘要 新闻语篇以其鲜活性历来为英语研究者和学习者所重视。本文通过研究发 现，不同学者分别从语音学、词汇学、文体学、社会语言学、跨文化交际等方面 对新闻语篇进行了探讨。但是对新闻语篇句法层面的研究仍凤毛麟角。本文以纽 约时报有关“中国产品质量事件”的新闻语篇为语料，以句法学相关理论为依据， 对文本进行定性、定量分析，从而试图揭示英语新闻语篇的句法特征并讨论实现 新闻导向的句法工具，从而为英语新闻语篇的研究者和学习者提供一个新的视 角。 本论文共分五个部分，主要内容介绍如下： 第一章是本文的介绍部分。在这一部分中，首先文章介绍了相关学者对“新 闻”和“新闻英语”的研究进而介绍了本论文对上述两个概念内涵和外延的界定。 之后，作者又对本文的重要性、目的和结构稍加陈述。 第二章是文献综述部分。作者回顾了国外学者对英语新闻语篇研究的主要历 史和重要成果并对近五年来国内学者在这一领域的研究现状进行了全面的梳理。 通过以上分析本文发现迄今为止很少有人从句法学的角度对这一问题进行研究。 受此启发，本文决定以句法的角度为切入点对新闻英语展开研究。需要指出的是 本文对近五年来国内相关研究的综述以其全面性成为这一部分的亮点。 第三章重点概述了本文所依据的句法学相关理论并在此基础上创立了本文 的句法一导向理论模型。基于传统语法和转换生成语法基础上的这一模型将帮助 我们探索主观导向是如何通过客观的句法结构得以生成的。 第四章是本文的主体部分。本文采用定性与定量研究相结合的方法，主要研 究了纽约时报上1 6 篇以有关“中国产品质量事件”为内容的新闻语料的句法 特征。在“普遍语法”的指导下，本文研究发现新闻英语语篇中存在英汉语序准对 应句式，英汉语序半对应句式和一些英语新闻语篇特有的句式，如插入句式，被 动句式，右权句式，枝干句式，程式句式、非正常句式以及新闻常规句式。在对 每种句式进行详细描写的基础上，本文讨论了每种句式对导向实现所可能产生的 作用。本文的创新点集中体现在这一部分。 第五章是对全文的讨论和总结。本文探讨了新闻英语的句法特征及其在导向 i v 山东师范大学硕士学位论文 实现中的作用，具有一定的创新性。但是我们也应该看到由于文本数量的限制， 本文远没有穷尽新闻英语所有的句法特征。即使是现有的结论，随着新闻英语的 进一步发展，也会有所变化。 本论文从句法的角度，研究了英语新闻语篇的句法特征，提出了句法一导向 理论模型并在其指导下探讨了导向实现的句法工具。本文研究结果表明英语新闻 语篇从句法上来讲有其独特的特征并且标榜“客观”的新闻语体实际上也是为了
