of Young s modulus and damping of viscoelastic layers with the frequency Finally the article presents the effects of Young s modulus and the damping of a viscoelastic layer interleaved in the middle dynamic characteristics of the damped blade The test facility and measurement system for the investigation of the dynamic characteristics of a damped blade are described The test results are analyzed and some important conclusions are drawn It is found that dry friction between the dampers or between damper and blade is a very effective means of reducing the vibration of a blade The resonance frequency the response amplitude and the relative damping ratio can all be influenced by dry friction High harmonic waves on the response ofthe blade which are caused by dry friction are observed in the test However the wave response of the damped blade is still basically harmonic The normal force acting on the rub surfaces of the damped blade will influence the dynamic characteristics of the overhung flexible rotor supported on a disk type magnetorheological MR fluid damper based on shear mode were studied both experimentally and theoretically The effects of applied current rotor imbalance and MR fluid on the dynamic characteristics of the rotor damper system were examined The theoretical analysis was based on the Bingham fluid model The theoretical results are basically in agreement with experiments for the lower weight percentage MR fluids but there is a great difference for the higher weight percentage MR fluids For the higher weight percentage MR fluids a stiffening effect of the MR fluid was experimentally observed The rheological behaviors of a real MR fluid are quite complex and the Bingham model cannot completely describe the rheological behavior of the in this paper Feature of pressure fluctuations induced by turbulence on the skin plate at different local openings is investigated which is the basic dynamic load acting on the gate The Fast Fourier Transform FFT algorithm is used to convert a digital signal in the time domain into a set of points in the frequency domain Finite Element Method FEM is also used to analyze the free vibration characteristics of the gate at different openings The paper presents a numerical procedure based on the finite element discretization that treats vibration analysis of the service gate The natural frequencies obtained by FEM are compared with the frequencies of pressure fluctuations measured in the hydraulic model test of the outlet to investigate the avoidance of resonance phenomena at the
