冀教版九年级上册Unit4 Lesson Janes Lucky Life杨雪莲 一、 指导思想与理论依据在英语教学中,我们要面向全体学生,以学生的发展为本,在学好语言基本功的基础上,培养学生具有一定语言能力,培养学生的学习兴趣和自学能力,培养良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略;发展自主学习的能力和合作精神,发展学生的思维能力、想像能力和创新精神;关注每个学生的情感意识,展现学生热爱祖国,热爱生活,热爱大自然的精神面貌;突出学生主体地位,尊重学生个体差异;倡导任务型教学,创设宽松和谐的学习环境,注重实效,打造高校课堂,促进学生发展,让学生在使用和学习英语的过程中体会成功的快乐。二、教材分析 本单元的主要话题是谈论健康,此课为本单元的的第六课,主要是讲述一位名叫 Jane 的残疾人对待生活的态度,是一篇阅读课文,通过阅读使学生明白什么样的人才是真正的残疾人。三 学情分析这是一篇阅读课文,往往单纯的阅读、枯燥的话题很难提高学生的学习兴趣。在这节课上我通过一个有趣的假想话题 假如你是一位残疾人,你会做什么,怎么做,来激发学生的学习兴趣,让学生开动脑筋思考自己的人生,并且主动用英语谈自己的想法和看法。四、教学目标1. 知识目标:掌握重点单词和词汇:lucky, unable, dare, control, disabled, be ableunable to do 学习并理解词汇: damage, wheelchair, Not at all. Thank you. 掌握下面句子和词组: (1) When Jane was ten years old, she became ill with a kind of disease.(2) She is unable to do many things.(3) She dares to try many things.(4) She enjoys encouraging her daughter to play the piano.(5) Jane is married and has two children.2. 能力目标:发展学生的听、说、识记及阅读能力,培养学生语言综合运用能力。3. 情感、态度和价值观:通过本节课的学习,使学生对生活充满积极向上的态度,培养学生要用健康的心理对待生活和学习,使学生形成积极的情感态度,主动思维,大胆表述,提高语言的实际运用能力。五、教学重点和难点1.重点句子:(1) When Jane was ten years old, she became ill with a kind of disease.(2) She is unable to do many things.(3) She dares to try many things.(4) She enjoys encouraging her daughter to play the piano.(5) Jane is married and has two children.2.难点:Lets do it!Which of these things do you think is the most important: money, family, jobs, health, good looks or friends? Why? Try using this phrase to express their own ideas:I think that_ is the most important because_.六、教学过程Step . Greeting as usual.Step . Warming-up questions:T: Do you know Helen Keller?S1: Yes, I know.T: Can you say something about her?S1: I only know she is a very famous writer, but she is blind.T: Yeah. You are right. She is a disabled person. Thank you. Sit down, please.(To the whole class) Now class, do you know another disabled people? Can you give me their names?S2: Zhang Haidi and SangLan.T: Thank you.(To the whole class) Now class, you know Zhang Haidi , SangLan and Helen Keller are all disabled people, but do you know what is their attitude toward life? Suppose: If you dont have arms or legs, what do you do? If you cant see anything, what do you do? If you cant hear anybody say something, what do you do?S3: Ill buy a wheelchair to help me.S4: Ill be very sad and cry all the time.S5: Ill try my best to touch everything in the world.T: OK, stop here. Please listen to me carefully, that is my answers: If I were a blind person, I would use my ears to listen to the sound of the world carefully. If I were a deaf people, I would use my eyes to say the beauty of the world. If I dont have arms or legs, I can use my heart to feel the world, and try my best to enjoy the life.Step .Listening1. Play the audiotape. Have the class follow the audiotape while looking at the text. And try to answer the following questions:(1) When did Jane become ill?(2)How old is Jane now?(3) What did she do after she became disabled?(4) Did she have any children?2. Correct the answer.Step . Reading1. Have the class to read the text and discuss the questions: (1) What happened to Jane when she was ten years old? (2) How Jane became disabled? (3) What did she do after she became disabled? (4) What did she think of her disability? (5) Why Jane think her life is full of good things?2. Discuss the questions and the students give the answers.Step V. Teaching and Learning. 1. Have the students to read the text and find out something new and difficult, and then explain some language points to help them to understand the text better.2 . Student Talk about some important language points of the text. For example:(1) When Jane was ten years old, she became ill with a kind of disease.(2) She is unable to do many things.be unable to do sth. (be not able to do sth) be able to do sth.(3) She dares to try many things. dare to do sth. (4) She enjoys encouraging her daughter to play the piano. enjoy doing sth /finish, dislike, hate, feel like doing encourage somebody to do sth.(5) Jane is married and has two children. be married with sb. 3. Conclusion: Everyone has problems, if you think about your problems; you will have a life full of problems. Do you know who is really disabled? People who dont know how lucky they are.Step VI. Do the ProjectWhich of these things do you think is the most important: money, family jobs, health, good looks or friends? Why? Ask the students to talk about each other.
