(look at the screen)s: plane.t: good! what will we hear before you get on plane?s: t: how about this one? listen carefully! “ladies and gentlemen, may i have your attention please? the flight ab111 from beijing to changsha will leave in 20 minutes”whats this?s: t: its a piece of boarding call. what does the boarding call mean?s: .t: boarding call means a call or announcement made by the broadcaster before you get on a plane. the chinese meaning is “登机广播”.now id like you to listen to three pieces of boarding calls. before we listen, id like you to know one word “destination”. do you know what it means?s: t: destination means a place someone is going to or something is sent to.e.g.: flight ab1212from beijing or hangzhou is delayed. which one is destination?s: hangzhou.step2: listening in page 15t: now lets turn to page 15 and look at the chart. you are asked to write down the flight number, the destination and gate. do you know how to mark the flight number and gate?s: t: flight number is made up of 2 parts: two letters + number. e.g.: flight ab1212 gate is also made up of 2 parts: one letter +number. e.g.: gate e12are you all clear?s: yes.t: now id like you to finish the chart after listen to the tape. lets start.play the tape.after the first listening, id like to raise some question about the tape.as follows:how does the boarding call begin?hoe does the boarding call end? do all the 3 planed take off without any change?which one takes off without any change?what happened to the other two planes?how many minutes does it delay?why does it delay?if they cant answer these questions, listen again .before the second listening, check the chart in page 15 first. if some of them are still not clear about the answers, look at the screen. i will show these answers in the screen.listen again, and try to find the answer to these questions above.step3: listening in page16the first piecet: now lets get on the plane with the world traveler and travel to the world. can you guess where would they like to go?s: (the great wall, the west lake, the pyramid and so on)when students speak of the great wall, teacher ask some questions about it .t: where is the great wall?s: beijing.t: what are there in beijing except for the great wall?s: t: whats the english for such places?s: t: how can you go to beijing?s: t: how about the other places at abroad?s: .
