Letter a says different things in these words: apple, play, arm, camera, hair, etc.2. Write the symbols for long or short I on the board. Explain that they have no names, only a sound. The sound can be write in many ways. Write the words on the page under each symbol. Ask the students to tell me other words with the same sounds and add them to a list.3. Play the Pupils Book Cassette and ask the students to listen to the sounds and the words.4. Say the words slowly and clearly. Check that the students are making a distinction between the short and the long vowel sounds correctly.5. Play the Pupils Book Cassette again. Ask the students to listen to the rhyme.
