Factors affecting second language learningIn modern society, learning a second language is important. No matter which profession you work in, speaking a second language fluently is helpful. However, a number of factors affect second language learning. As a result, various of people may give up half way.As far as I know, the main factor is ones character, such as the mental thinking, attitude to study, curiosity, motivation and so on.At first, the self-critcal-factor is motivation which moves us from boredom to interesting, it is something like the engine and steering wheel of an automobile. The learners attitude to study a second language is also important, if one learns the second language uncarefully, he will fail in mastering it at last. But on the contrary, if he often put forward some questions, and ask them actively, hell enjoy the happiness in learning. Then I think ones determination is also necessary, if your desire to achieve the goal is firm , and at the same time the chance of communication with others is frequently, the learning will become easily, in a word, the combination of effort plus desire to come to the goal of learning in order to meet and communication with the members of the second language community. Secondly, the environment is also vital, for one grows up in his motherland, the mother tongue has been spoken so many years, considering this situation which hinders the new learners to master a second language easily. Another factor is that most of the learners have no opportunity to close to the second languages birthplace, so the culture and language environment play the important role! Thirdly, the teaching technology has an ungenal situation .when the learner follows an active way to learn .he may achieve his goal more easily. No matter what difficulties you may meet, do not complain now and then .if you really want to improve yourself ,just bury yourself in an active method to learn the language!At last, besides those factors have been referred, the ages of the learners , the gift of learning language are also influenced. According to a survey. The age of one learns a language is 0 to 12,however, the age structure is almost ones period to learn his mother tongue. Another is that everyones gift is different, maybe one learns so easily while the other learns too hard. But this is just a small factor, if one learns the second language heart and soul, the success will come to you too! Considering so many factors exist, if one wants to learn a second language well, he must expend effort and sweat.
