MODULE 7 TEACHING PLANPeriod 2 Reading and VocabularyTeaching Content: Reading and Vocabulary Teaching Aims and Demands:1. Language knowledge:New words: get up, have, house, back, or, go, home, dinnerKey structure: This is my school day. I get up at Lessons start at We have a break and talk to our friends.2. Reading skill: ( 1).To get information from the reading material.(2).To be able to put pictures in order according to the reading material. 3. Affection and attitudes: We should be interested in school life and form good habits.Learning strategies: Interactive approach.Teaching Aids: Multi-Media (Tape recorder , video, OHP, handout)Teaching Procedures:Part I: Revision1. Help students to revise what is learnt in Period one of this module.Show them some pictures about the new words in last period. Have the Ss. spell them chorally and individually.Part II : PreparationTask: Revise how to express the timeDirections:Step one: Lead in the study of the text by carrying out the following activities:(1).Give them some clocks. Let the Ss. speak out the time.(2).Put the Ss. in pairs to practice them Step two: Label the pictures with the correct time. (1). Read through the words in the box and have the Ss. Repeat them after you. (2).Ask them to label the time. in the pictures on the screen. (Ask students to speak out as many as they can) Part III: Pre-reading activitiesTask: Predict the contents of the passage according to the picturesDirections:Step one: Ask one or two students answer the questions first.Step two: Pair the Ss. to predict the contents of the passage according to the pictures.Step three: Circulate and provide the words they may need.Step four: Call back the answer in a whole- class setting.Part IV : Reading 1. Task: Read the passage and put the pictures in order. Directions:Step one: Ss read the passage and order it individually and check with a partner.Step two: Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the sections in order and saying which picture goes with it.2. Task: Match the times with the pictures in activity 1.Directions:Step one: Ss read the passage and do activity 2individually and check with a partner. Step two: Call back the answers from the whole class,3. Check the true sentences:Directions:Step one: Read out the sentences and have the Ss. understand what these sentences mean.Step two: Ss read the passage and do activity 3 individually and check with a partner.Step three: Call back the answers from the whole class.Part V: Dealing with expressionsTask: Read the text again .Pay attention to these sentences1. Today, we have Chinese at eight oclock We have science at nine oclock and we have maths at ten oclock 今天我们8点有语文课, 9 点有科学课, 10点有数学课。中学science课程包括一些理科基础性学科, 物理, 化学, 生物等都属于science学科2.
