Show students parts of pictures to review names of animals they have learnt last period: lion, elephant, koala, tiger, giraffe and panda.2. Talk about five pictures of aniamls to review theadjectives of quality to describe animals: cute, fun, lazy, smart, interesting and beautiful.3. Fill in a chart to review the names of countries: Australia, China, Africa and South Africa; and the structure “Where are they from?”Step 4: Pairwork.Show students six pictures of animals to practice the target language with partners. A pair of students should choose two pictures to practise. Then invite some pairs to show their dialogues.Step 5: Grammar Focus.1. Ask students to read it carefully and translate them one by one without looking at books.2. Help students sum up the structure of “Why do you +V? Because” and “Where is/are from?”Step 6: 3a pairwork.1. Ask students to finish it without talking with others. 2. Practice the conversation with partners. Then invite some pairs to show the conversation. Check the answer together. Invite some to show if they can make up their own conversations.Step 7: 3b Writing.Ask students to write four sentences like that in 3b. Then invite some to read their sentences. Lets see who reads and writes best.Step 8: 3c Game.1. Let students read the conversation together.2. Give an example to practice.3. Invite two girls and two boys to play the game. Tow girls are in one team. Two boys are in the other team.They should choose a number from 1 and 2. In a team, one asks questions, the other answers.
