Enterprise Culture1. The History of NissanIn 1911, Masujiro Hashimoto founded The Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works. In 1914, the company produced its first car, called DAT.In 1926, the first DAT trucks were produced for the military market. It was the low demand of the military market in the 1920s that forced DAT to merge with Japans second most successful truck maker, Jitsuyo Motors.In 1926 the Tokyo-based DAT Motors merged with the Osaka-based Jitsuyo Jidosha Co., Ltd., to become DAT Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Osaka.In 1928, Yoshisuke Aikawa founded the holding company Nippon Sangyo. The name “Nissan” originated during the 1930s as an abbreviation used on the Tokyo stock market for Nippon Sangyo.In 1931, DAT came out with a new smaller car, the first Datson .In 1933, the company name was nipponized to Jidosha-Seizo Co., Ltd. and was moved to Yokohama.During World War II, Nissan eventually grew to include 74 firms, and became the fourth-largest combine in Japan.In 1934, Aikawa separated the expanded automobile parts division of Tobata Casting and incorporated it as a new subsidiary, which he named Nissan Motor (Nissan)2. Name & Design Mark Nissan is the companys Japanese name. “日产”is the short name of Japanese Industry. It means that the company will take the future of people and car as their target. The letter “Nissan” is put on a circle, which means the sun in the companys design mark. The whole mark shows the companys name and the countrys image. It is really special.3. Business Philosophy We Nissan will offer people with unique, innovative car and service; provide all related parties with high quality goods, and all of these are on the basis of the cooperation with Renault. This is the mission of Nissan. The vision of Nissan is to enrich peoples life. The slogan of Nissan is spirit of self-confidence and self-improvement. 4. Enterprise Value The CRS(Corporation Social Responsibility )mainly includes two parts: The UN Global Compact and Environment Protection.The UN Global Compact: Since January 2004, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has participated in the United Nations Global Compact, a corporate responsibility initiative built around universal principles regarding human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. The UN Global Compact was originally proposed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in an address to the World Economic Forum (Davos forum) in 1999. Businesses may pledge to support its principles of their own free will. In order to convey its progress in activities that contribute to fulfilling these 10 principles, Nissan publishes its annual Sustainability Reports on the U.N. Global Compact website.Environment Protection:People, vehicles, natural symbiosis is the ideal social blueprint that Nissan has depicted. 5.
