任务型阅读(1)I used to be the messiest person alive. Over the years, through watching others and by trial and error, I have finally found ways to come up with plans, organize them and follow through with them.Make an outline of everything you need to have and do to make your plan happen. Make a list of all of the steps that need to be accomplished and think about what needs to be done.Detail everything thoroughly and read over it so you can start coming up with some mental solutions of how to carry out your plans. You should make sure that if for some reason Way One doesnt work, you have Way Two and Way Three to lean back on. Therefore, different ways are needed at hand. Its just a matter of being organized. Chances are that there is always more than one way of doing things, and chances are that if one of those ways doesnt work, one of the other ones will.Committing yourself to finishing at least part if not all of your plan at once is also necessary. It will show that you not only have initiative to get things rolling, but that you are interested in the results obtained with making the move to get everything done.If you make a commitment to finish before a specific time, make sure that you carry that out, and be sure to do everything in the way you said you would, within the time-frame you set for yourself.Dont try to tackle more things all at a time. All that does is delay your progress, distract you and make you lose your interest, motivation and energy.Carrying out an effective plan requires being as organized as possible. You will only achieve this by sticking to the order of the plan and not deviating or trying to do more at a time.Last but not least, you should never abandon things mid-project. It will only annoy everyone around you including yourself. Unfinished plans are a waste of time, energy and, in some cases, even money. So, dont be afraid of organization. The older we get, the more necessary it becomes to have the skills to follow through with confidence and to be able to carry through plans in an organized and manageable way. It pays to be organized, after all.Title: Tips on how to be 71 in your lifeTipsDetails 72 73 down your plan.List everything you need.List the 74 you will follow. To make your plan happen. Stretching out over 7,332 square miles, Kruger is a wonderland of wildlife. It has 507 species of birds and 147 species of mammals. It also has a fair bit of history - it dates back to 1898 when it was founded as a game reserve in an attempt to control hunting in the area. It didnt see a tourist until 1927; however, one year later it became a national park. Its a good place to see roaring beasts in their own backyards. South Mrica is an increasingly hot tourist spot, and you may want to visit it this year, before it hosts the 2010 football World Cup. South Africa is also an inexpensive country for tourists.Anyone seeking to escape the European winter will be surprised to hear that March is not the best time to go to Kruger. The six-month period between May and October tends to be the most suitable time for wildlife-spotting. The weather is not only cooler but also considerably drier. This means that water sources dry up and animals are forced to approach rivers, creeks, dams and watering holes in search of liquid refreshment. If you go to South Africa, you need to pay attention to the threat of malaria (疟疾). Kruger is one of the only two South African national parks that have an issue about the disease, but only during the rainy season (December to April).A disadvantage of Kruger is that it sits a long way from South Africas other well-known tourist attractions - Cape Town, the Garden Route, and the meeting of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at Cape Agulhas. Twelve-year-old Yuval Kagan looks like hes ready to work at a call center. Hes among 10 students sitting at a long table covered with laptop computers, talking into their headphones. ”Yes,” he says, looking at his computer screen. Yural is talking to a math teacher. If he has a question, he hits a button called “raise your hand” and the teacher speaks to him. Yuval says he enjoys this form of teaching. “In a lesson with a class, the teacher always has to tell other students to stop talking, but here you can have one-on-one teaching.” That personalized approach is what makes School of One different. Its an after-school math program taking place here at I.S. 228 and two other middle schools. Kids spend part of their time working with online teachers. But teachers can also set instruction in small groups, where a teacher explains a special math problem. And sometimes they work together, as demonstrated by two boys using colorful blocks to figure out a geometry problem.School of One was first piloted last summer with middle scholars in Chinatown. Assessment tests showed so much progress that the Department of Education expanded the program. Dominick DAngelo, the principal of I.S. 228, says he wanted his sixth graders to take part because the traditional classroom doesnt serve every child. But School of One is what its name suggests.“A student is working at his or her own pace,” says DAngelo. “Not with a group of 30 other students. If they dont get it today, they have to work on it again tomorrow. Theyre not left behind because they cant catch up with the class. Its at their own pace.”Chancellor Joel Klein says “This kind of approach-students centered, not classroom centered-is going to be a part of the future of Education.” But Daniel Willingham, a professor of Psychology says “Studies have been done trying to prove that some people learn best visually, however, other people learn best aurally (听觉上). They have shown that theres no benefit in meeting the needs of those learning styles.” He adds, “Its not clear whether considering different styles of learning makes a real difference.” The city has raised money from private donors to keep the program going next fall. And though officials say they didnt deliberately launch it this spring in time for the state exams, theyll be very curious to see the performance of those 240 sixth graders at the three schools now using the School of One. These are people who have been disabled due to some major sickness or some other problems. In order to help them carry on their work in the normal way, disability aids are manufactured. This helps them make their life a lot easier than what it would have been without these aids. The kind of disability aids that an individual might require depends on the person only. It is the problem that a person faces that decides the aids that he/she will use for carrying out their respective jobs. The following is the list of a few disability aids that come of significant use.The first and foremost aid is the stocking aid, aiding the individuals suffering from the problem of bending down to reach the foot and wear their own socks. These stocking aids have a gutter(槽) that is made up of plastic material. These gutters are shaped in a certain way along with the attachment of cotton tapes in it. The sock is then put over the gutter. The foot is placed inside the gutter. The cotton tapes help in pulling the socks up the leg and subsequently the sock. In this manner, the sock is worn by a person who has problems wearing it by bending ones back and reaching the foot. There are openers that help the people who have problems with their hands or wrists to open bottles of ketchup, jam and other such bottles and jars that necessitates the use of hands and fingers. The third type of disability aids that comes to our minds are lifts. Now what are lifts? Lifts are certain machines that help in lifting people from specific areas, such as a bathtub or a set of stairs. These lifts are of varied types and come for numerous applications. It is for the individual to decide the type that he/she requires to use.For people, who have problems in balancing their upper bodies in a stable manner, there is something known as grab rails. These grab rails are installed for those who have mobility problems in their upper bodies. These rails come in varieties of shapes, sizes and angles. These grab rails are available to home users as well, in their different variations. One can purchase and fix one to their homes according to ones specificities. These grab rails require the act of screwing and drilling in order to fix them to their appropriate place. The prices of these rails also vary according to the variation of their shapes and sizes. A portable book holder is a much sought-after disability aid. It can be used by anybody for that matter, not just the disabled. These portable book holders are light-weight and c
