AnotherconcernIhaveaboutstudyingathomeisgettingdistracted.Itsstrange,butIthinkbeinghomealoneismoredistractingthanbeingatschoolwithalotofpeople.Atschool,wereallfocusedonthesamesubjects.Athome,itwouldbesoeasytoturnofftheputerorthetelevisionandgodosomethingelse.Imighttellmyselfthatitsokaytoplayaputergamenowandmakeupthestudyhourslater.Chancesare,Idnevermakeupthestudyhours. Manystudentsgetplentyofphysicalexerciseaspartoftheirdailylifeorrecreation.Astudentwhobicyclestenmilestoandfromschooldoesnotneedmoreexercise.Agoodphysicaleducationprogrammusttakeastudentsoutsideactivityintoconsideration.Otherwise,somestudentswillspendvaluableclasshoursrepeatingphysicalexercise. Ifaschoolofferssuchactivities,italsosuggeststhatstudentswillbegradedonthem.Therangeofpossiblephysicalactivitiesisgreat:football,swimming,weightlifting,ballet,ballroomdance,yoga,skiing,horsebackriding,andgolfarejustafew.However,thenumberthataschoolcouldofferissmall.Somestudentscouldgetbadgradesinphysicaleducationsimplybecausetheschoolcouldnotprovideanactivitytheyenjoyordowell.Thisseemsunfair.Researchsuggeststhatparticipation,notexcellence,intheseactivitiesdeterminesthephysicalbenefitsthebodywillget. Anotherissueiseconomic.Manyschoolsdonothavethemoneytoprovidegymfacilities,playingfields,andathleticequipmentfortheirstudents.Otherschoolsarelocatedincitieswherethatkindofspacejustisntavailable.Afewschoolswouldratherkeepmoneyforacademicpurposes.
