He may not only watching television at home but also when having dinner or doing exercise on running machine. And he doesnt dont need to go to the bookstores again and again to buy the books which he needs to learn . Moreover, reading books when eating and running is almost impossible. For example, when I have dinner at home, I always watch the news on TV with my parents, and learn events happening around the world. In contrast, we cannot read a newspaper on current events while eating. According to the above, watching television is more convenient than reading books to obtain information.
