The origination and historical development of QFD, especially in Japan and the US, are briefly accounted first, followed by a partial list of QFD organizations, softwares, and online resources. Then a categorical analysis is conducted about QFDs functional fields, applied industries and methodological development. Ten informative QFD publications are also suggested, particularly for those who are not yet familiar with QFD. It is hoped that the paper can serve the needs of researchers and practitioners for easy references of QFD studies and applications, and hence promote QFDs future development.Linking ground-water age and chemistry data along flow paths: Implications for trends and transformations of nitrate and pesticidesOriginal Research ArticleJournal of Contaminant HydrologyThe financial undertow of rapid technical advance in new product developmentOriginal Research ArticleJournal of Engineering and Technology ManagementForests, discourses, institutions: A discursive-institutional analysis of global forest governanceOriginal Research ArticleForest Policy and EconomicsComprehension of Familiar and Unfamiliar Native Accents Under Adverse Listening ConditionsOriginal Research ArticleJournal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and PerformanceStructural factors of NPD (new product development) team for manufacturabilityOriginal Research ArticleInternational Journal of Project ManagementMarket versus technology drive in R&D internationalization: four different patterns of managing research and developmentOriginal Research ArticleResearch PolicyEffects of Japanese national identification on attitudes toward learning English and self-assessed English proficiencyOriginal Research ArticleInternational Journal of Intercultural RelationsNarrative inquiry for teacher education and development: Focus on English as a foreign language in ChinaOriginal Research ArticleTeaching and Teacher EducationInter-firm R&D partnering in pharmaceutical biotechnology since 1975: Trends, patterns, and networksOriginal Research ArticleResearch PolicyThis paper analyses a large, longitudinal database on inter-firm R&D partnerships formed in the high-tech pharmaceutical biotechnology industry since 1975. Our research indicates an overall growth in the number of annually, newly established R&D partnerships where research partners consistently prefer contractual partnerships to equity-based alliances. In the networks that develop through these R&D partnerships, small, entrepreneurial biotechnological companies take a leading role during the 1980s when biotechnology first became relevant for the pharmaceutical industry. The 1990s, however, show a different pattern with established, large pharmaceutical companies becoming more dominant, acting as nodal players with multiple partnerships with a variety of other companies.Article Outline1. In addition to traditional variables, we include an institutional variable and remittances among the regressors. We find that (i) both institutions and remittances have a positive and significant impact on market capitalization; and (ii) both regressors matter, especially in countries without significant hydrocarbon sectors; whereas (iii) in resource-rich countries, stock market capitalization is mainly driven by the oil
