文档简介

Shakespeare wrote Romeo And Juliet in 1594, which was a tragedy concerning the fate of two young star-crossed lovers. It is perhaps the most famous of his plays, one of his earliest theatrical triumphs, and is thought to be the most archetypal love story of the Renaissance.Although created 400years ago, William Shakespeares works still won millions of scholars favor and recognition. Romeo And Juliet, like a bright pearl, is shining in the art palace all the time, with rays dazzling our eyes. Romeo and Juliet are known as star-crossed lovers because of their unanimous love for each other and their determination to preserve their love. Their lives were a tragedy because of their opposing family, who did not allow for their marriage. With numerous attempts of being together, they were still destined to die because Juliet drank a potion that would put her to sleep and Romeo thought it was poison, so he bought a bottle of poison and drank it to kill himself, and sadly when Juliet woke up, she drank the remains and died too. The story happened in an ancient Italian city, Verona. The two dramatis person, a lady and a gentleman, who came from two grand feudal families (but the very two families had rather deep feud), fell in love with each other at the first sight at a ball. However, in the end, they both committed suicide because of the hatred and the conflict between the two families. In the play, the two dramatis person were valiant, naive, innocent, loyal, and kindhearted, and their breadths of minds were as pure as the jade. The hatred between the two feudal families came to an end finally, and it is the death of their offspring that ended the fatuous conflict. The play reflected the authors acute receptivity toward the historical status of that age. At Shakespeares time, the rising bourgeois were swelling up gradually, and the combat within the remnant feudal forces influenced internal stability and the realization of abroad hegemony. Shakespeare condemned the faction between the federal forces, mocked the old feudalistic system, and gave high praise to the friendship and the love of humanism via his play. It reflected the conflict between the humanistic ideal and seamy reality. We can see the authors belief and pursuit of humanism. The story ended by a regrettable die for love. It may be an inevitable ending for Shakespeare to choose when he realized the deep social conflict at that time. Language is the conveyor of an authors thought. Shakespeares excellent language commanding art was profound and magnificent, which presented us a full of poetic but is not lacking a beautiful philosophic implication world. It is eternal to pursue eminence and to soar human nature. However, the peoples value today has been quite different from the value in the old days. Nowadays, in the way of pursuing love, there is no longer as much hindrance as in the past. The dynamic and pure love between Romeo and Juliet seems untouchable today, and only can be looked at from afar. Now, there are more valuable things to do than just falling in love. Love cant be the cause of death. In reality, some people spared no effort to pursue ideal love, even at the cost of their own life. In our campus, tragedies of that kind come on repeatedly. Maybe in their minds, dying for love is a great and stirring thing, which deserves pride and solemnity. But judging it by the view at present, isnt it a pale and empty thing that desecrates the value of lives? The thought that love is above anything made lots of people pursue their seemingly lofty and romantic love without any concern of their lives. As a youth living in a great epoch, we should have confronted difficulties with a much broader mind in a wider sky, and should have proved our value of lives and the sense of being alive. If we suicide for the empty eternal love, what is the meaning of such eternity? It is irresponsible for own lives and families, isnt it? During the growing procedure, we will encounter a great deal of frustration, which invol
