摘要 符号学是 i 1 古老的学科 早在柏拉图和亚里士多德的著作中就 有关于符号的论述 现代符号学传统以瑞士语言学家索绪尔和美国哲 学家皮尔斯为代表 索绪尔认为语言是一个能表达思想的符号系统 符号由所指和能指构成 皮尔斯根据符号与指称之间的关系 把符号 分为类象符号 指示符号 抽象符号 符号学与翻译有着密切的关系 它们都研究意义的产生 解释 以及应用 许多学者都试图从符号学的角度来研究翻译 本文作者阐 述并分析了莫里斯的符号学理论 认为该理论对翻译研究有着重要的 作用和指导 并把它应用到翻译实践中去 莫里斯认为符号由三部分 组成 即符号载体 符号所指和解释者 并由此产生了符号学的三个 意义 形式意义 存在意义和语用意义 莫里斯将这三种意义用于语 言研究 认为语言意义也有三个方面 即言内意义 指称意义和语用 意义 本文从符号理论的三个意义着手 讨论文学作品中前景化的翻 译
