The second kind is very changeable, because its construction (5)depends on the feeling of the young, who constantly change(6) their tastes and interests in life. The third kind is (7)a perfect one, because it is the friendship of those who are good, and (8)similar in their goodness. Just as fish cannot (9)live without water, we cannot live without friendship. True friendship (10)is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it is lost. Dictation TwoThe classical views tell us that (1) true friendship is made up of three components: (2)mutual enjoyment, bilateral benefits and (3)common commitment. True friendship is only possible between good men with (4)the same tastes and attitudes and it is virtue that (5)creates and preserves true friendship. Here, “the good” means “those whose actions and lives leave no question as to their (6)honor, purity, equality, and liberality; who are free from (7)greed, lust and violence; and who have the (8)courage of convictions”. Therefore, virtuous friends are always (9)bond together, each providing a mirror in which the other may see himself. It is the networks of such virtuous friends that help us (10)construct permanent friendship. Section D Passage DictationDirections: In this section youll hear a passage of about 100 words three times. First, you will hear the whole passage from the beginning to the end just to get a general idea of it. Then in the second reading, youll be given a pause after each sentence or sometimes in the middle of a long sentence. During the pause, youll write down the sentence on your answer sheet. The next sentence is read just like the previous one. This will continue until the whole passage ends. You can check what you have written when the passage is read once again without the pauses.Whenever you are and whatever you do, staying healthy is always important, because as is well acknowledged, one cannot enjoy a comfortable life without health. With the improvement of our living standards, people are attaching more and more importance to their health. Not only do they pay attention to their physical health but they are also concerned about their mental health. Health can be regarded as one of the leading causes of ones success in every field. For us students, we cannot keep the high study efficiency without good health. The same thing is true with workers, scientists and doctors.Band Three-Unit TwoPart I ConversationsDirections: In this section youll hear 10 short conversations.
