Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came? 第一课时(1a-1c)课堂设计一.Teaching aimsA.Knowledge ability1.掌握本课的词汇rainstorm 、when、while、 report、pick up 、at that time、so many times.2.掌握副词短语“when”和“while”.B.Ability aims通过掌握这些描述的词,进行简单的对话及进行句子的仿写。C.Feeling aims1.鼓励学生仔细观察周围事物并善于发现生活中的美 。2.发展学生的合作精神和乐观的态。二.Key points and difficulties重点:掌握词汇rainstorm 、when、while、report、pick up 、at that time、so many times等,并学以致。难点:1.学习和掌握过去进行时的学习和用法。2.掌握副词短语“when”和“while”。1.教法分析(1)过去进行时是初中非常重要的语法项目,而本单元的话题源自生活,立足这一点,我充分利用学生已有的知识和生活经验,让他们讲述今天的天气,创设生活化的真实情境引导学生在运用语言中学习语言,然后在学习新的语言知识后创造性地运用语言(为用而学, 在用中学,学了就用).(2)开展多种类型的任务型活动,提供给学生合作交流的空间和时间,促使学生为完成任务同学进行合作,为完成任务进行探究性学习.2.学情分析我们教学的对象是初二学生(好,中,差等生都有),他们学习英语既感到好奇又担忧,希望能得到他人的肯定.因此我在教学活动中尽量让他们参与到活动中来,有更多的机会来说英语,减少他们的恐惧感,通过学生间的合作学习,降低他们的学习难度,使他们体验到成功的喜悦.同时在阅读和书面表达中加以落实,提高他们综合运用语言的能力,使各层次的学生都有所收获。四、教学过程设计Step 1 Lead-in Show some pictures about the present progressive tense,let students make sentences with them.e.g.What is he/she doing? He/She is doing sth. Then ask some individual students. Revise the present progressive tense, then present the past continuous tense, like: What was he/she doing? He/She was doing Step 2 Ask and answer-1aAccording to the books on page 33.T: Where was the girl/boy doing ?S1:She was in her houseS2:He was in the library.S3:She was at the bus stop.S4:He was on the street.Fill in the blank in 1a on page33. Step 3.Presentation-1cShow two pictures about the words “storm, rainstorm”. Read them again and again, correct students reading, then make sentences with the words “ when and while”e.g. What were you doing when the rainstorm came? I was doing my homework. Then students make conversations. First ,give them a few minutes , finally ask some pairs to present their conversatioms. After that ,the should add one-three points to them if necessary.Step4.Practice-Pairwork and GroupworkLet students look at pictures on the screen about Harry Potter. Then give out a piece of paper with a sentence about the past continue tense ,ask them to write “Yes or No according their own facts ,next write down a true sentence, using “when or while”, the teacher should give an example with her owns piece of paper. Finally ask them to discuss “ in pairs or in groups” In three minutes. Then check their answers . Prepare for the listening-1b.Step5 Listening-1bFirst,ask students to scan four forms of 1b, know the task, circle the right answers according to the listening materials. Then listen to them for the first time and circle the answers ,next listen again ,check their answers together, the teacher can circle them on the screen with red pen. Step6 PairworkLet students use information about 1b to make conversations with “when or while”A: What was the girl doing in Picture A when the rainstorm came?B:She was doing her homework.A:What was the boy doing in Picture B when the rainstorm came?B:He was reading books in the library.Ask some pairs to act out their conversations before the whole class.Step7 ExercisesFinish the exercises on the black board or on the screen. Ask individual students to come to blackboard or screen to write their answers ,others write them down in their exercises-books.Next check them.Step8 SummaryLet several top or middle students to sum up the structure of the past continue tense :positive, negative, general questions.肯定句:主语 + was/were v-ing + 其他否定句:主语 + wasnt/werent v-ing + 其他一般疑问句: Was/Were + 主语 + v-ing + 其他Step9 HomeworkStep10反思在课上,90%的学生基本上的学生能够顺利的描述
