In Japan,when you enter someones home,you should take off your shoes. In Brazil,people never go out with their hair wet. In Indonesia,you mustnt point to anything with your foot. Dont eat with your left handn in Muslim countries. Dont touch a child on the head in Thailand.4.Review the expressions of making suggestions in English.Teaching procedure:Step 1 Review1.Ask some questions and review Section B,1a. Where does Jane want to go for her holidays? What does Zhou Weilun think of Yunan? What places of interest are there in Yunan?2.Free talk.Let the students talk about a place that they are eager to visit or reconnend others to visit a place of interest.3.Talk about the things which should be taken when traveling. T:What should we take if we go on a trip? S:We should take a camera. S:We should take.Step 2 Presentation1. Use a red packet,the pictures on page on 89 of the textbook and the gestures the teahcer does to talk about them to present the new words and phrases “enter” “take off” “wet” “point to ” “touch” “finger” “lucky money” “paper” “pass” “during”and “May Day” 2. Class activities.Ask a few students to act as people from different countries with the badges,such as Japan,Brazil,Indonesia and Thailand,and introduce their customs.Let these students perform to the whole class and help them know the local customs.3. Ask the students to read 1a and get to know the custons in different countries in the text.Write the key words on the blackboard:Countries CustomsJapan enter,take offBrazil go out,hair wetIndonesia point to sth,with ones footMuslim countries eat with your left hand Thailand touch sb.on the head4.
