BrainstormingAsk the students to recall the vocabulary about foodWhat would you like for dinner tonight?Id like rice and chicken.Write down some food on the board2. Look at different pictures and tell different names of the food(to teach new words: cabbage, garlic, noodle, seafood, prawn, bacon)3. Introduce different cooking methods to students according to the pictures(fried, steamed, boiled)4. Name the different dishesWhile-task procedure:1. Listen to the dialogue on page 55 and fill in the blanks Mrs Li: What would you like for dinner tonight? Would you like rice or noodles? Ben: Id like rice for dinner. Mrs Li: Would you like meat or seafood? Kitty: Id like steamed prawns with garlic. Id also like some soup. Mrs Li: What kind of soup would you like? Tomato or cabbage? Ben: Lets have tomato. Its my favourite. Mrs Li: All right, well have tomato and egg soup. Kitty: Id like fried eggs with bacon, too. Ben: Mum, can we have some fruit after dinner, please? Mrs Li: Yes, what kind of fruit would you like? Strawberries or apples? Ben: Id like strawberries. Mrs Li: OK, but we need to buy some food first!2. Read the text and answer the following questions according to the dialogue.a. What would Ben like for dinner, rice or noodles?b. What would Kitty like for dinner, meat or seafood?c.
