Life has become increasingly rich. Technologys progress and development let the Americans consider themselves already ahead of the game in the Soviet Union. Until October 4th, 1957, the Soviet Union announced they launched the first man-made satellite into space. The impact on Americans confidence is not less than once the economic depression, which brings people into the wonder and fear of technology in the era of science and technology. The movie tells a wonderful story. When a towering giant made of iron appears out of nowhere, young Hughes sees him not as a monster, but a friend. The townspeople are terrified of the giant and devise a plan to bring him down. But Hughes believes in his friend, and rescues him when no one else will. However, when Mansley orders the missile-launch to attack the Giant, he collides with the missile, causing a massive explosion high in the atmosphere and saving the town. The townspeople are happy to have survived, but are saddened by the robots sacrifice. The Iron Giant is the kind of the work, whenever you can easily move your soul. Without the use of traditional Disney cartoon singing mode and now popular 3D. It is a simple picture of two dimensions, which tells the story of sincere friendship between a child and wham giants. There is exciting adventure, carefree slapstick, not to be understood in the loneliness, the courage to face the challenge ,and the thinking of people and technology, the criticism of society and politics. The most important point is friendship between the iron giant and children, which is the most precious thing. The friendship is very impressive. There will always be some time when you can really find your friend even if it is only metal. The friendship between the boy and the iron giant is actually the childs friendship - the true friendship. And the true friendship in the pure heart has nothing to do with the material and the size of the body. I was touched by it. In simple children moral values, there are only the good and bad points. Hughes teaches the iron giant to learn the Superman. Because he always does good deeds for people. These words make a deep imprint in his minds. I like that small detail: Hughes and Dean initial communication on the iron giant was not happy. During the dialogue, the Hughes let Dean call the iron giant he . Perhaps Hughes was happy to have his own robot at the beginning, however, after getting along with the iron giant for some time, he really had a new friend. The process let us see the kind world of the children. The plot impressing me most is when the people will be dead, thinking of the Hughes words you are who you choose to be, the iron giant made the determination. He crouched down in front of Hughes and said Hughes-you stay , I go,no following. The sentence appeared two times in the film,but the feelings are quite different. The iron giant firm eyes tell all people including himself I want to be the Superman, so with a powerful explosion and dazzling light, the disaster disappeared. He saved the people of the town with his own sacrifice . His ruined, but achieved the rebirth of the town, and realized his commitment to his only friend. “You stay, I go, no following “ this sentence deeply touched me. He did not forget the boys teaching, accepted the children simple and good moral view, and made a significant choose. With the great light of the end of the sky, the iron giant completed the development of the consciousness and also gave the theme to the film.It is not a preach of American justice, but deeply touched us thoughtfully . Fortunately, at the end of the film, the director gave us an unexpected but reasonable hope that the body fragments of the iron giant came back under the call of his brain signals from all over the world .
