Lead-in T: In this unit, we have learned many fairy tales and stories. Can you say some of them? Ss:. T: Today, we are going to learn another interesting and wonderful story. Before our class, lets see a picture. What shape can you see? Ss:.T: What words can you see from this word cloud? And what can you predict? Think for 30 seconds.S1:.S2:.T gives reflections to Ss answers: Good imagination!/Amazing!/Thats a great prediction./Good!T: You have such good imaginations and so sharp eyes. Yes, today we are going to learn the story: Hansel and Gretel. In this class, we are going to have a reading game. There are three levels and they are more and more challenging. Hope you can try your best to pass all the stages.Step II. Pre-readingT: lets first listen to the context and find out its type.T: Can you tell its type? If Ss have difficulties, let them discuss with their partner. T explains the features of play. Step III. While-reading 1. Scanning T: As we know, there are 7 scenes, do you know what is each scene about? Read and match each description below with the correct scene. Use key words to help you. Ss read and match the main ideas. 2. Careful reading Scene 1-2: Read carefully and answer the following questions. Ss read the passage in 1.5 minutes and then find out the answer. Check the answers. Scene 3-4: Read carefully and check TRUE or FALSE. These are the difficult and key sentences, teacher should give some help to students for better understanding. Scene 5.6-7: Read carefully and fill in the blank.Step IV. Post-readingTask: Wacth the video adopted(改编) from the story. Try to imitate(模仿) the pronounciation and itonation(语音语调).Step V. Group work-dubbingGroup1 to Group5 dub scene 1 to scene 5. Ss are given 5 minutes to practice and then dub.The best dubber will be prized as “The King of Dub”Homework:Level1: Read more about the story. Level2: Imagine you are a writer, please rewrite the ending of the story and adapt it into the play. Perform
