To grasp the past progressive tense.教学思路本课的教学内容是人教版八年级下册第五单元的第一课时,通过讲述自己的经历,激发学习的兴趣,学会运用过去进行时,任务以听说为主。重点是过去进行时的学习和运用。情感目标定为培养学生学习英语的积极性和兴趣,并体会生活中如何用英语来交流。教学准备multimedia , blackboard, tape-recorder 教学过程 Step1 Lead-inLead in by showing a vedio of a person walking in the rainstorm helplessly. And talk about this situation with students. Can you guess whats the feeling of the person ? Have you ever had the same experience? Can you share the experience with us? What were you doing when the rainstorm came?设计意图:观看视频,讲述自己偶遇暴雨的经历,激发学生的思维,活跃课堂气氛,引起学生表达的欲望,激起学英语的兴趣,引出过去进行时。Step2 Presentation Look at the sentence in the picture :” What were the people doing yesterday at the time of the rainstorm?” Read it aloud over and over , try to recite it . Then think over what the difference is between “What were you doing ?” and “What are you doing?” Have some students try to say out their ideas. Then point out that they both mean “doing” , but “were” represents in a past time, while “are” represent now.设计意图:把现在进行时和过去进行时的句子进行对比,先让学生自己比较异同,然后教师点出不同点,让学生豁然开朗。Step3 Listening1. Listen to the TV reporter and circle the correct responses in 1a2. Check the students answers3. Listen and repeatStep4 Practice Talk about what the people were doing at the time of the rainstorm.A: What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm?B: She wasStep5 Listening1. Listen and number the pictures in 2a2. Listen again, fill in the blanks in the sentences for each picture in 2a3. Check the students answers设计意图:本部分的内容重在培养学生们听大意和听细节信息的能力,所以先帮助学生听出每个对话的大意再去完成后面的对应的细节题。Step6 Pair work1. Listen to the tape again and repeat it2. Role-play the conversation between the boy and a TV reporter Step7 Role-playing1. Go over the conversation in 2d, and deal with the difficulties in groupsGo over the conversation in 2d quickly, if you have any problems, discuss them in your group. The teacher goes through the classroom and offer help if necessary.2. Read aloud the conversation in pairs3. Act out their conversations in groups , then in classStep8 Summary 本节课学习了过去进行时,其构成为:was/were+v-ing用法说明:1. 表示在过去某一时刻或某一阶段正在发生的动作。如:What were you doing at this time yesterday?2. 表示过去将来,多用于go, come, leave, start, take off等动词。如:He said he was leaving for home in a day or two.3. 表示某个短暂性动作发生的背景。如果主句谓语和从句谓语都发生在过去,动作时间长的用过去进行时表达谈话背景,动作时间短的用一般过去时,表达新的信息。如:I was reading books when the doorbell rang.Jim burnt his hand when he was cooking the dinner.I met Diana while I was shopping this morning.4. 表示两个同时持续的动作。如:I was doing my homework while he was listening to music.
